The driving method includes: acquiring a display synchronization signal, and according to it to determine a first backlight synchronization signal including a plurality of second pulses corresponding to a plurality of first pulses in the display synchronization signal; acquiring a display setting frequency greater than a minimum value of refresh rates of frame images, and according to it to determine a unit backlight clock signal, where a duration of the unit backlight clock signal is equal to of a reciprocal of the display setting frequency; and generating a third pulse between some two adjacent second pulses to drive a backlight plate to emit light.

Abstract: A method for controlling a functional safety display controller including defining in a display controller, a visible display area of a display device, wherein the display device is configured to raster scan a series of pixel intensity data, the raster scan including at least one synchronization phase. A test area of the display device is defined to be mutually exclusive of the visible display area. A test data is rendered in the test area to generate a rendered test data during the at least one synchronization phase of the raster scan. A checksum of the rendered test data is generated. The checksum is compared with a previously generated checksum to verify a functionality of the display controller.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure can receive a hardware Vsync signal from a display, generate a hardware timestamp signal based on the hardware Vsync signal, determine an error for a pulse in the hardware timestamp signal, determine whether the error for the pulse is over a threshold, synchronize a software Vsync signal based on the hardware timestamp signal, wherein the pulse of the hardware timestamp signal is ignored in synchronization based on whether the error is above the threshold, and control rendering and transmission of a frame to the display based on the synchronized software Vsync signal.

Abstract: A timing controller of a display set is integrated with an encoder for transport of analog signals between a display controller and source drivers of the display panel. The timing controller and integrated encoder are within an integrated circuit and are part of a chipset. The integrated circuit is located immediately after the SoC of a display set or is integrated within the SoC. A video signal sent to the timing controller chip is unpacked into sample values which are permuted into vectors of samples, one vector per encoder. Each vector is converted to analog, encoded and the analog levels are sent to the source drivers which decode into analog samples. Or, each digital vector is encoded and then converted to analog. A line buffer uses a memory to present a row of pixel information to the encoders. A mobile telephone has an integrated TCON with SSVT transmitter.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: a driver circuit portion; a pixel portion; a signal generation circuit for generating a control signal for driving the driver circuit portion and an image signal which is supplied to the pixel portion; a memory circuit; a comparison circuit for detecting a difference of image signals for a series of frame periods among image signals stored for respective frame periods in the memory circuit; a selection circuit which selects and outputs the image signals for the series of frame periods when the difference is detected in the comparison circuit; and a display control circuit which supplies the control signal and the image signals output from the selection circuit, to the driver circuit portion when the difference is detected in the comparison circuit, and stops supplying the control signal to the driver circuit portion when the difference is not detected in the comparison circuit.
