Abstract:
Embodiments relate to supporting creation of a manual of a program product. An aspect includes recording into a recording medium that can be accessed by the computer a screen character string, a translated character string where the screen character string has been translated to another language, or an identifier associated with the screen character string or the translated character string, displayed on a display device by the program product. Another aspect includes recording into the recording medium attribute information of the screen character string or the translated character string. Yet another aspect includes maintaining consistency between the screen character string or the translated character string and a character string that is displayed on a display device by an application for creating the manual, using the screen character string, the translated character string or identifier recorded on the recording medium and the attribute information.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus related to determining reply content for a reply to an electronic communication. Some implementations are directed generally toward analyzing a corpus of electronic communications to determine relationships between one or more original message features of “original” messages of electronic communications and reply content that is included in “reply” messages of those electronic communications. Some implementations are directed generally toward providing reply text to include in a reply to a communication based on determined relationships between one or more message features of the communication and the reply text.
Abstract:
Techniques for use in connection with a system for automatically generating text. Techniques include accessing information specifying at least one referential expression for at least a first referent and at least one anaphoric expression for at least the first referent; accessing a template that includes human-language text and a first tag that serves as a placeholder for a first text portion including a reference to at least the first referent; automatically identifying, using at least one system rule and at least one processor, text to use for the first text portion at least in part by determining whether to use as the text for the first text portion the at least one referential expression or the at least one anaphoric expression; and automatically generating output text including the human-language text and the identified text for the first text portion.
Abstract:
An approach is provided in which an information handling system analyzes correction information corresponding to an answer generated by a question answer system. The correction information includes a correction to the answer and captured variable information utilized by the question answer system to generate the answer. The information handling system selects input variables based upon the correction analysis and generates a test case that includes the selected input variables and the variable information. In turn, the information handling system tests the question answer system using the generated test case.
Abstract:
Various approaches enable automatic communication generation based on patterned behavior in a particular context. For example, a computing device can monitor behavior of a user to determine patterns of communication behavior in certain situations. In response to detecting multiple occurrences of the certain situation, a computing device can prompt a user to perform an action corresponding to the pattern of behavior. In some embodiments, a set of speech models corresponding to a type of contact is generated. The speech models include language consistent with patterns of speech between a user and the type of contact. Based on context and on the contact, a message using language consistent with past communications between the user and contact is generated from a speech model associated with the type of contact.
Abstract:
In one aspect, an information processing system for determining complimentary phrases to present to a recipient is provided. The information processing system may receive an input image depicting a subject. A difference in appearance between the subject depicted in the input image and a model subject may be determined. One or more phrases (e.g., complimentary phrases) may be selected from a plurality of categorized phrase candidates based on the identified difference in appearance between the subject and the model subject. The difference in appearance may be determined by comparing selected features (e.g., skin, hair, eyes) of the subject with one or more predetermined features of the model subject. The model subject may be the same or different than the subject depicted in the input image.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are described herein that are configured to perform referring expression generation. In some example embodiments, a method is provided that comprises identifying an intended referent to be referred to in a textual output. The method of this embodiment may also include determining that a salient ancestor of the intended referent is lower in a part-of hierarchy than a lowest common ancestor. The method of this embodiment may also include causing the salient ancestor to be set as a current target referent and a new salient ancestor to be determined for the current target referent. In some example embodiments, the default descriptor of each current target referent is added to the referring noun phrase and the part-of hierarchy is traversed via salient ancestor links until the new salient ancestor of the current target referent is higher than or equal to the lowest common ancestor.
Abstract:
The AKOS (Artificial Knowledge Object System) of the invention is a software processing engine that relates incoming information to pre-existing stored knowledge in the form of a world model and, through a process analogous to human learning and comprehension, updates or extends the knowledge contained in the model, based on the content of the new information. Incoming information can come from sensors, computer to computer communication, or natural human language in the form of text messages. The software creates as an output. Intelligent action is defined as an output to the real-world accompanied by an alteration to the internal world model which accurately reflects an expected, specified outcome from the action. These actions may be control signals across any standard electronic computer interface or may be direct communications to a human in natural language.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are described herein that are configured to generate a situational analysis text. In some example embodiments, a method is provided that comprises generating a set of messages based on one or more key events in a primary data channel and one or more significant events in one or more related data channels in response to an alert condition. The method of this embodiment may also include generating a situational analysis text based on the set of messages and the relationships between them. In some example embodiments, the situational analysis text is configured to linguistically express the one or more key events, the one or more significant events, and the relationships between the one or more key events and the one or more significant events.
Abstract:
A semantic phrase suggestion engine that provides term and sentence suggestions based on context-specific user groups. Knowledge domains within a semantic network may be automatically derived from user software applications, and each term within the knowledge domain includes meta-data about the terms, e.g., term type and an importance indicator. The indicators may be defined within the context of specific user groups and relate to how many times that group has used the term (e.g., in documents, emails, etc.) The semantic phrase suggestion engine may also include spelling conditions and grammar conditions, which can then provide phrase suggestions according to the conditions and importance indicators, specific to a user group.
