摘要: A method and apparatus for verifying proper operation of a vehicle anti-lock braking system includes pressure measuring devices which are releasably attached to an exterior surface portion of the flexible wheel brake hoses. Each measuring device senses changes in the external diameter of the associated hose, which changes are representative of fluid pressure changes within the hose. The valving in the braking system is tested by applying fluid pressure to the system, operating the associated valves in a predetermined sequence, and monitoring the pressure changes in the associated wheel brake hoses to determine whether the valving is operating properly.

摘要: A regulated braking arrangement includes left and right sensors to provide wheel velocity signals, and a solenoid for dumping brake line pressure to prevent wheel lock-up. This arrangement is governed by a control system. An analyzer for checking the control system includes a sensor resistance test circuit for determining whether the left and right sensor resistances are between acceptable upper and lower limit values. A composite circuit tests the solenoid, both for acceptable resistance and for effective operation under low voltage. A wheel velocity signal circuit provides an artificial wheel velocity signal for passage through a wheel select gate circuit to the sensors in the control system. A deceleration function generator operates, through the wheel select gate circuit, to simulate a rapid deceleration to test the operability of the control system. A mechanical logic switch passes signals from a wheel select switching circuit to the wheel select gate circuit; this switch facilitates testing of different control systems, whether selecthigh, select-low, or wheel-by-wheel systems.

The brake device is configured to discharge brake fluid into a communicating fluid path that connects a fluid path of a primary system and a fluid path of a secondary system, and to control a first communicating valve for restricting a flow of brake fluid from the communicating fluid path to the fluid path of the primary system and a second communicating valve for restricting a flow of brake fluid from the communicating fluid path to the fluid path of the secondary system in respective valve-closing directions, so as to check at least a state of the pump.

摘要: A method of performing a pump check for a brake system comprises determining a first position of a pump with a pump position sensor upon ignition of a vehicle. A pump motor is powered based upon a preselected operating condition. A second position of the pump is determined with the pump position sensor. The first position of the pump and the second position of the pump are compared. The pump motor is confirmed as operational when the second position of the pump is different from the first position of the pump.

摘要: A vehicle braking system including an input piston and a pressure piston that are moveably supported within a cylinder. The input piston is allowed to depress the pressure piston and is connected to the a brake pedal. Pressure chambers to the front and to the rear of the input piston are communicated through a communication passage such that the control hydraulic pressure in accordance with the operation amount to the brake pedal is applied to the second pressure chamber via first and second linear valves. The control hydraulic pressure in accordance with the operation amount to the brake pedal that has been transmitted to the pressure piston through the input piston is regulated by a pressure regulating valve so as to be applied to the second pressure chamber. The braking hydraulic pressure may be output from the pressure chambers, respectively.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for operating a braking system for motor vehicles with electrically actuated hydraulic valves, the coils of which are powered up, at least in phases, with currents which modify the currentless state of the hydraulic valves, in order to heat the hydraulic fluid present in the system. The hydraulic fluid is heated via a heating profile which, in accordance with the hydraulic fluid temperature, activates the heating phase of the hydraulic fluid. The heating profile consists of a first heating phase and, subsequent thereto, a second heating phase. During the first heating phase, the coils are powered up in such a way that the coil temperature at the end of the first heating phase corresponds to a pre-defined temperature value of the coil which is at least approximately maintained during the second heating phase when powering up the coils.

摘要: A system, apparatus and method of verifying operation of a vehicle fluid brake system shutoff valve is provided, wherein the shutoff valve is adapted to enable or inhibit the transmission of fluid pressure to at least one brake solenoid valve that controls operation of at least one brake actuator so as to effect wheel braking. In verifying operation of the system, the shutoff valve is commanded to inhibit the transmission of fluid pressure to the at least one brake solenoid valve, and the at least one brake solenoid valve is commanded to apply fluid pressure to the at least one brake actuator. An operational status of the shutoff valve is determined based on the absence or presence of wheel braking.
