摘要: Provided is a brake system including a main automatic driving ECU, a main actuator, a sub automatic driving ECU, and a sub actuator. The main actuator is configured to receive a braking request from the main automatic driving ECU or a braking request made through an operation of a brake pedal, and to apply a braking force to a vehicle. The sub actuator is configured to receive a braking request from the sub automatic driving ECU, and to apply a braking force to the vehicle. When the main automatic driving ECU has failed, the sub automatic driving ECU is configured to acquire the braking request from the main actuator through the sub actuator, and to cause the main actuator to apply the braking force.

摘要: A system and method for allowing failover between an autonomously controlled braking system and a human controlled braking system in a truck having pneumatic brake lines is provided. A cab-mounted brake actuator is arranged to be handled by the human operator and is arranged to selectively deliver pressurized air to truck brakes and a trailer brake air supply. A controller performs autonomous braking operations in response to control inputs and senses when a human operator is handling the actuator. A plurality of valves, interconnected between a pressurized air source on the truck, the actuator, the truck brakes and the trailer brake air supply, are responsive to the controller, and are arranged to override selective delivery of pressurized air to the truck brakes of the truck and the trailer brake air supply in response to the autonomous braking operations in favor of selective delivery of pressurized air via the actuator.

摘要: A braking system includes: brake circuits independently activated and deactivated and when activated apply braking force at respective wheels; a braking stability module detecting an issue or a failure with a first one of the brake circuits where an unexpected amount of braking torque is being applied as compared to an amount of braking torque applied at a second one of the brake circuits, and mitigating effect of the unexpected amount of braking torque on a yaw rate of the vehicle by i) adjusting the braking torque of the first one of the brake circuits, ii) adjusting braking torque of the second one of the brake circuits, and/or iii) deactivating the first one of the brake circuits and modulating braking torque of the second one of the brake circuits, to compensate for the unexpected amount of braking torque.

The generation of the brake pressure using the second power brake pressure generator is aborted if, within a second time span, which is longer than the first time span, no error message is present from the first power brake pressure generator.
