摘要: A brake system includes a reservoir and a master cylinder operable to provide a brake signal responsive to actuation of a brake pedal connected thereto. A power transmission unit is configured for selectively providing pressurized hydraulic fluid for actuating at least one of the pair of front wheel brakes and the pair of rear wheel brakes in a normal non-failure braking mode. A plurality of iso/dump valve arrangements are each hydraulically interposed between the power transmission unit and a corresponding one of the wheel brakes. A plurality of two-position three-way valves are each hydraulically connected with the master cylinder, the power transmission unit, and at least a selected wheel brake of the pair of front wheel brakes. The three-way valves selectively control hydraulic fluid flow from a chosen one of the master cylinder and the power transmission unit to the corresponding one of the front wheel brakes.

摘要: Disclosed is an electric brake system. The electric brake system includes a master cylinder including first and second chambers, and first and second pistons disposed at the first and second chambers, respectively; a simulation device connected to the master cylinder and configured to provide a reaction force according to pedal effort of a brake pedal; a hydraulic pressure supply device configured to generate a hydraulic pressure by a hydraulic piston which is operated by an electrical signal that is output to correspond to displacement of the brake pedal; a hydraulic pressure control unit configured to deliver the hydraulic pressure discharged from the hydraulic pressure supply device to a wheel cylinder provided at each of wheels; a first backup flow path and a second backup flow path configured to connect the master cylinder and the hydraulic pressure control unit; a first cut valve and a second cut valve configured to control delivery of a hydraulic pressure of the first and second backup flow paths; an electronic control unit (ECU); a first pressure sensor installed between the first chamber of the master cylinder and the first cut valve; and a second pressure sensor installed at the first hydraulic flow path, the second hydraulic flow path, or the hydraulic pressure control unit, wherein, in a state in which the second cut valve is closed and the outlet valve, which is connected to the second backup flow path, is opened, to discharge the hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic pressure control unit connected to the second hydraulic flow path, the ECU operates the hydraulic pressure supply device to generate a pressure in the first chamber, and when a measured value of the second pressure sensor is less than an expected value, the ECU determines that the second piston of the master cylinder is stuck.

The brake device is configured to discharge brake fluid into a communicating fluid path that connects a fluid path of a primary system and a fluid path of a secondary system, and to control a first communicating valve for restricting a flow of brake fluid from the communicating fluid path to the fluid path of the primary system and a second communicating valve for restricting a flow of brake fluid from the communicating fluid path to the fluid path of the secondary system in respective valve-closing directions, so as to check at least a state of the pump.

摘要: An operation quantity detector detects an operation quantity. Hydraulic passage systems provide connection between hydraulic chambers of a tandem type master cylinder and wheel cylinders. A hydraulic pressure source in the hydraulic passages can pressurize the hydraulic passages based on the operation quantity. Cutoff valves each is installed in each of the hydraulic passages, between the master cylinder and the hydraulic pressure source. The hydraulic pressure detectors detect hydraulic pressures of the hydraulic passages. In the opening command state, a first mutual diagnosis based on the hydraulic pressures and the operation quantity and a second mutual diagnosis based on the hydraulic pressures are performed. In the closing command state, the first and second mutual diagnoses are performed. A failure is detected in the cutoff valves and the hydraulic pressure detecting units based on results of the first and second mutual diagnoses in the opening closing command states.

摘要: A failure check apparatus for a control apparatus of a vehicle such as ABS. When the failure check apparatus performs initial check for the ABS, it successively activates each of solenoid valves and a motor provided in the ABS, one at a time, for a predetermined time so as to determine whether a failure has occurred in the ABS. At that time, activation of the motor is started when a certain delay time elapses after the end of activation of the last solenoid valve. The delay time is a time which the vibration generated in the control apparatus upon activation of the last solenoid valve converges. Thus, interference between a vibration wave (sound wave) generated upon actuation of the solenoid valves and a vibration wave (sound wave) generated upon actuation of the motor, which differ in nature of vibration, is prevented.

摘要: Support rollers are provided for seating front and rear wheels of a motorcycle thereon. A braking force inspecting means is provided for calculating a braking force from results measured by a torque measuring means to determine whether the braking force is acceptable or not when a brake is fully applied and the support rollers are rotated by a motor. A speedometer inspecting means is provided for determining whether a speedometer is acceptable or not from results measured by a rotational speed measuring means when the support rollers are rendered rotatable and an engine of the motorcycle is operated. A brake system inspecting means is provided for calculating a change in a vehicle speed of the motorcycle from the results measured by the rotational speed measuring means and determining whether an ABS and a CBS operate acceptably or not when the engine of the motorcycle is operated.

摘要: A vehicle brake system of the previously known type has a rear wheel brake booster, between a brake pressure source and an anti-skid apparatus associated with the rear wheels of the vehicle; the brake booster can be switched on by an electrically controllable switchover device. However, switching on of the rear wheel brake booster is effected at the onset of braking only if the anti-skid apparatus is in an operative functional condition. The complex structure of the switchover device in the form of a 3/2-way magnetic valve is a disadvantage. For simplification and economy, the switchover device is provided with an electrically controllable 2/2-way valve and a 2/2-way valve that is mechanically controllable by the stepped piston of the rear wheel brake booster and is built into this brake booster. An electrically controllable 2/2-way valve, which is a component of the anti-skid apparatus, is likewise triggered to activate the rear wheel brake booster.
