    摘要: A treatment for male erectile dysfunction comprising separately storing a lyophilized composition of vasoactive agents and a carrier gel, mixing said lyophilized composition of vasoactive agents and said carrier gel creating a homogeneous mixture and applying said homogeneous mixture to the meatus of the glans penis. A system for the treatment of male erectile dysfunction comprising a syringe coupling system for the storage, mixing and application of therapeutic compounds for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, said system further comprising a first syringe and a second syringe. The first and second syringes are filled with a lyophilized composition of vasoactive agents or a carrier gel. The system includes a locking device coupling said syringes to facilitate the transfer of said lyophilized composition of vasoactive agents and carrier gel between the syringes and a penile adapter for applying the therapeutic compounds for the treatment of erectile dysfunction to the meatus of the glans penis.

    摘要: A catheter has an entrance opening defined by the first end of a catheter body and non-circular inner surface in cross section. The entrance opening intersects a longitudinal axis extending longitudinally through the center of a lumen adapted to drain urine from a bladder. The non-circular inner surface can have dimples, channels, or grooves, all of which decrease frictional fluid forces against the inner surface as the urine drains. The catheter is free of any eyelets formed in the side wall of the catheter body. The catheter further includes a plurality of distinct longitudinally extending convex outer surfaces and may have an enlarged head.

    摘要: Urethrotome dilators for dilating a urethral stricture, and methods for forming and using the same are disclosed. In some embodiments, the urethrotome dilator includes a first distal end with a dilating head, a second proximal end with a handle, and a stem for connecting the first end to the second end. The dilating head may have a first region, a second region, and a channel for receiving a guidewire. The first region of the dilating head may have a substantially conical surface, with a vertex at its distal end and a base at its proximal end. The second region may have a substantially flat surface and a blade for stretching tissue. The blade may be integrally formed within the second region and may extend from the flat surface. The top edge of the blade may be tapered and blunt, while the two opposing sides of the blade may be formed with sharp corners for cutting tissue.

    摘要: A urinary catheter is configured to avoid sliding contact between the outer surface of a catheter tube and the urethra wall. A flexible tubular membrane extends through the catheter tube and has a proximal end secured to an anchor outside the urethra as the catheter tube moves into the urethra, pulling the membrane through the proximal end of the tube so it inverts and covers the outer surface of the tube. Alternatively, a catheter tube of flexible material has a proximal end secured to the anchor, and the catheter tube turns inside out as it is inserted, forming a double wall reflected tube with a proximal reflection point. The sterile interior surface of the membrane or tube becomes the external surface facing the urethral wall as the catheter is deployed, and this external surface maintains static contact with the urethral wall as the catheter is advanced or retracted.
