Abstract: Embodiments relate to a billboard circuit that stores context information received from various component circuits in an electronic device. The context information indicates an operating status of the corresponding component circuit, system or shared resources. The stored context information may be retrieved by one or more component circuits when events (e.g., turning on of a component circuit) are detected. By using the billboard circuit, a component circuit may detect changes in the operating status of other components circuits and configure or update its operations even when the changes occurred while the component circuit was asleep or disabled. The billboard circuit may monitor updating of the context information by the component circuit and initiate notification to other components circuits when certain entries of the context information is updated.

Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus includes first and second signal processing circuitry configured to perform signal processing operations and second signal processing circuitry configured to perform signal processing operations, wherein the second signal processing circuitry includes a smaller amount of processing resources than the first signal processing circuitry. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes one or more storage elements configured to store context information for the second signal processing circuitry and the one or more storage elements are accessible to the first signal processing circuitry. The apparatus may be configured to select one of the first and second signal processing circuitry based on the complexity of input problems, the amount of transmission resources assigned to the apparatus, etc. In some embodiments, intermediate results of from the second signal processing circuitry are used as inputs to an operation performed by the first signal processing circuitry.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using an advanced form of carrier aggregation. The UE may provide signaling to the network specifying a number P of downlink component carriers to be configured for use by the UE for downlink carrier aggregation and a number Q of uplink component carriers to be configured for use by the UE for uplink carrier aggregation. The UE can only utilize a lesser number M of downlink component carriers at any given time in downlink carrier aggregation and can only utilize a lesser number N of uplink component carriers at any given time in uplink carrier aggregation. Thus the UE may request the network to configure a greater number P and Q of downlink and uplink component carriers, respectively, than the UE can actually use at any instant of time.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for determining whether a battery alarm of a UE is asserted, reducing a transmission duty cycle of the UE to zero for a first predetermined time period when the battery alarm is asserted, determining whether the battery alarm has been de-asserted after the first predetermined time period and when the battery alarm has not been de-asserted, increasing the transmission duty cycle to a first threshold level for a second predetermined time period, wherein the first threshold level is less than a full transmission duty cycle of the UE. When the battery alarm has been de-asserted, increasing the transmission duty cycle to a second threshold level for a third predetermined time period, wherein the second threshold level is less than the full transmission duty cycle of the UE, and wherein the second threshold level is greater than the first threshold level.

The D2D synchronization signals may be provided on each respective frequency channel of the frequency channels during a respective portion of a D2D synchronization signal cycle in a sequential manner.

Abstract: An integrated circuit package may have a package substrate with a surface to which an integrated circuit die is soldered. A first set of contacts on the package substrate may mate with contacts on the integrated circuit die. Solder may be used to connect the integrated circuit die to the first set of contacts. A covering material such as a plastic mold cap may be used to cover the integrated circuit die and the first set of contacts. The mold cap may have a rectangular shape or other footprint. A rectangular ring-shaped border region or a border region of other shapes may surround the mold cap and may be free of mold cap material. A second set of contacts on the package substrate may be formed on the surface in the border region.
