Abstract: A method receives data from entities indicative of whether or not an anomalous event is occurring at the entities over a first time period. The method characterizes the system, based on the data and a system characterization model, as one of: a system in which only the first entity is experiencing an anomalous event at any one time; a system in which two or more of the plurality of entities are experiencing anomalous events occurring at any one time; and a system for which during at least one second time period within the first time period data is missing for one or more of the plurality of entities. The method uses one or more anomaly detection models to compare the data received from the first entity to the data received from other entities in the plurality of entities, and determine that a local anomalous event has occurred at an entity.

Abstract: An electronic device may include wireless circuitry with a transmit antenna that transmits signals and a receive antenna that receives reflected signals. The wireless circuitry may detect a range between the device and an external object based on the transmitted signals and the reflected signals. When the range exceeds a first threshold, the wireless circuitry may use the transmitted signals and received signals to record background noise. When the range is less than a second threshold value, the wireless circuitry may detect the range based on the reflected signals and the recorded background noise. This may allow the range to be accurately measured within an ultra-short range domain even when the device is placed in different device cases, placed on different surfaces, etc.

Abstract: Disclosed is a communication technique for merging, with IoT technology, a 5G communication system for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G system, and a system therefor. The present disclosure can be applied to intelligent services (for example, smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, healthcare, digital education, retail, security, and safety-related services, and the like) on the basis of 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology. The purpose of the present invention is to efficiently transmit downlink data in a slot in which a synchronization signal block is transmitted and, according to the present invention, a base station in a communication system checks whether a synchronization signal block and downlink data are transmitted in the same slot, determines a downlink data transmission method when the synchronization signal block and the downlink data are transmitted in the same slot, and transmits the downlink data and a demodulation reference signal for the downlink data to a terminal on the basis of the downlink data transmission method, and the downlink data transmission method can be determined on the basis of at least one of the transmission pattern of the synchronization signal block, the relationship between the synchronization signal block and a subcarrier interval applied to the downlink data, and the index of the slot in which the synchronization signal block is to be transmitted.

Abstract: Technologies directed to correcting terrestrial interference using narrowband adaptive filtering and beamforming technology are described. One method includes receiving a first and second radio frequency (RF) signal. The method further includes removing a first portion from the first RF signal using the first digital samples and the fourth digital samples.

Examples of the present disclosure provide an apparatus for a transceiver device that comprises interference cancellation circuitry configured to cancel interference caused by upstream signals in one or more upstream sub-bands on one or more downstream sub-bands based on a combination of a plurality of kernels. The interference is at least partially caused by non-linearities within a transmission circuitry of the transceiver device, the plurality of kernels representing the non-linearities within the transmission circuitry of the transceiver device. Each of the kernels comprises one or more associated terms, with each of the associated terms being in-band for at least one of the one or more downstream sub-bands.

Abstract: A method is described that processes an audio signal. A discontinuity between a filtered past frame and a filtered current frame of the audio signal is removed using linear predictive filter. Removing the discontinuity further comprises processing a beginning portion of the filtered current frame, wherein the beginning portion of the current frame comprises a predefined number of samples being less or equal than a total number of samples in the current frame, and wherein processing the beginning portion of the current frame comprises subtracting a beginning portion of a zero-input-response (ZIR) from the beginning portion of the filtered current frame.

Abstract: Systems and methods comprising: receiving a signal (S) having a first interfering signal component (FISC); generating a replicated SOI (RSOI); and iteratively performing a process to obtain residual errors for FISC. The process involves: modifying an amplitude of RSOI; obtaining a reference signal (RS) by removing RSOI with the modified amplitude from S; analyzing frequency of RS to obtain an estimated carrier frequency and an estimated symbol rate for FISC; generating a remaining signal by removing, from FRS, a signal having the estimated carrier frequency and symbol rate; and determining a residual error of the remaining signal. Parameters for FISC are then set equal to the estimated carrier frequency and symbol rate that are associated with a lowest residual error. The parameters may be further refined in accordance with another process which involves iteratively modifying a symbol rate of FISC. Yet another process may be performed to determine filter parameters.
