Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for reference signal design in wireless communications. A base station may select a reference signal density scheme from a set of available density schemes associated with a port count. The reference signal density scheme may also be selected based on the category of the mobile device receiving the reference signal transmissions. The reference signal density scheme may be a higher density reference signal density scheme or a lower density reference signal density scheme, where the higher density reference signal density scheme includes more reference signal resource elements per subframe. The mobile device may determine the reference signal density scheme based on characteristics of a channel. The higher density reference signal density scheme may provide additional channel estimation opportunities for the mobile device. In some cases, the mobile device sends the channel estimated based on the received reference signals to the base station.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to autonomous sidelink communication in a radio frequency band (e.g., in a shared spectrum or an unlicensed spectrum) shared by multiple network operating entities are provided. A first user equipment (UE) performs a listen-before-talk (LBT) in a shared radio frequency band based on a first starting point of a plurality of starting points within an LBT gap duration. The first UE transmits, to a second UE, a first sidelink communication in the shared radio frequency band based on the LBT, the first sidelink communication including first sidelink control information (SCI) and first sidelink data.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to automatic frequency coordination (AFC) for spectrum sharing among multiple network operating entities are provided. A first wireless communication device transmits, to a spectrum access coordination entity, a spectrum access request. The first wireless communication device receives, from the spectrum access coordination entity in response to the spectrum access request, a configuration including at least a medium access protocol parameter for performing a medium access procedure in a spectrum shared by a plurality of network operating entities.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to improving detectability of interference management signals are provided. A first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device, a first reservation signal indicating a reservation for a first transmission slot in a spectrum accessed by a plurality of network operating entities. The first wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device are associated with a first network operating entity of a plurality of network operating entities. The first reservation signal includes a duration based on a power class associated with the first network operating entity. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device, a first communication signal in the first transmission slot.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, devices, and systems for techniques related to random access channel (RACH) operation. A user equipment (UE) may establish a connection with a base station using a random access procedure. Based on a transmission priority or a network parameter, the random access procedure may be a two-step random access procedure or a four-step random access procedure. The described techniques may support physical layer procedures, including resource configurations and communication schemes that may support enhanced signaling capacity. In some examples, the described techniques may include signaling characteristics and resource mappings for two-step random access procedure based on a transmission priority. In other examples, the described techniques may include antenna techniques associated with a four-step random access procedure. The physical layer procedures may include features for improved data rates, increased spectral efficiency and, in some examples, may promote low latency communication associated with random access, among other advantages.
