This constitution makes it possible to provide clothing having high heat-retaining performance achieved by water molecule adsorption capability.

A new foam coated nonwoven fibrous mat having properties particularly suited for a facer on gypsum wallboard, laminates made therefrom and the method of making the mat is disclosed. The mat preferably contains a major portion of glass fibers and a minor portion of a resinous binder. The foam coating is permeable and reduces fiber dust and abrasion experienced in the past with relatively coarse, relatively inexpensive glass fibers in the mat. Contrary to previous methods, the foam coated fibrous mat is made in-line on a wet mat forming production line by applying a wet foam binder onto a wet, fibrous web followed by drying and curing in-line.

A product and process of making an absorbent paper article such as paper products, towels, napkins and the like is disclosed. In the invention, one may supply a single furnish, or slurry, of cellulose fibers. Then, it is possible to separate or fractionate the slurry into at least two portions based upon fiber length in the slurry. Fines are employed in the process of manufacturing the products, and fines are specifically incorporated into an inner layer of the final paper products. Fines, short fibers, and/or fibrils are used in the process so they may contribute in a positive manner to the final paper product, rather than acting in a negative manner as a chemical nullspongenull or waste material. This use of fines in the inner layers of the product reduces the manufacturing cost and waste produced in the process. A soft paper product with good strength characteristics results from the process.

A porous membrane is provided by biaxially stretching a film of high density polyethylene (HDPE), including particles of an incompatible material. This film has a meshed network of HDPE fibers and striations of layers coplanar with the plane of the film. This film is porous in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the film and has a void content of at least 20%. The porous membrane may have one or more nonporous backing layers. The membrane may be used as filter or battery separator.

These polymeric foams are prepared by polymerization of certain water-in-oil emulsions having a relatively high ratio of water phase to oil phase, commonly known in the art as high internal phase emulsions, or nullHIPEs.null The HIPE-derived foam materials used in the present invention comprise a generally hydrophobic, flexible, semi-flexible, or rigid nonionic polymeric foam structure of interconnected open-cells. These foam structures have a density of less than about 100 mg/cc, a glass transition temperature (Tg) of between about null40null and 90null C., and at least about 1% by weight compatible fibers incorporated into the foam. The foam composites have improved tensile properties compared to foams having no incorporated fibers or foams having noncompatible fibers incorporated therein.

A coated textile fabric is disclosed for manufacturing an air holding device for a vehicle restraint system, including a base woven, knitted or non-woven base textile fabric having a first surface and a second surface. The base textile fabric is completely or partially coated with an adhesive polyurethane to form a first coating layer, the first coating layer being coated with a second composite coating layer. The second composite coating layer is preferably a polyurethane, a polysiloxane, and an epoxy resin which acts as a filler and adhesion promoter. A third coating layer is formed of a polymeric polyurethane material coated on the second composite layer. A method of producing the coated textile fabric is also disclosed. A heat sealing die for forming sealing beads to seal such coated textile fabrics to form air holding devices is also disclosed.
