    摘要: A system for producing foam continuously. A body member defines a foam generating chamber. A foamable liquid is introduced into an inlet of the foam generating chamber. A gas is simultaneously introduced under pressure into the inlet of the foam generating chamber to form a mixture of foamable liquid and gas. The mixture is then flowed from the inlet of the foam generating chamber to an outlet thereof through a turbulator medium which substantially fills the foam generating chamber to thereby foam, mix and homogenize the mixture. The inlet and outlet of the foam generating chamber are in an imaginary substantially non-horizontal plane. The foamed and homogenized mixture is then removed from the outlet.

    摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for generating a multiple phase dispersion and distributing said multiple phase dispersion as globules in a suspension phase. The apparatus comprises a conduit for introducing a first fluid under pressure into a first zone including a porous fluid dispersing layer. This first zone is in fluid communication with a second zone through the porous fluid dispersing layer. The second zone has introduced into it a second fluid under pressure through inlets. The first fluid is dispersed as bubble-like micro droplets in the second fluid by passage from the first zone through the fluid dispersing layer into the fluid in the second zone. An outlet zone is in contact with the second zone and comprises a perforated nonporous layer having an outer and inner surface and includes a porous flow distribution layer substantially in contact with the inner second zone facing surface of the nonporous layer. The multiple phase dispersion formed in the second zone enters the outlet zone through the porous flow distribution layer and exits the outlet zone as globules of predetermined size through the perforations where the outer surface of said perforated nonporous layer forms an interface with a suspension phase which is immiscible with the second fluid.The instant invention further relates to a process for generating multiple phase dispersions as globules in a suspension phase.

    摘要: A nozzle for the injection of urea-formaldehyde foam insulation in a building includes a two-stage foaming chamber in the foam chemical line which includes a plurality of jets for effecting bubbling of the foaming chemical and a bubble-sizing, apertured plate positioned downstream of the jets to further enhance the foaming action of the chamber. The nozzle further includes a body into which the foaming agent is coaxially delivered with respect to an axailly extending resin injector. The end of the resin injector extends from the body of the nozzle and a flexible injection hose is removably attached to the end of the nozzle such that the resin and foaming agent mix in the flexible hose.

    摘要: The apparatus comprises a foaming cylinder containing a foaming chamber into which a liquid foaming agent is discharged through a small orifice. The chamber is closed at one end by three, aligned discs having therethrough a plurality of axially extending openings which connect the foaming chamber to a venturi. Compressed air, which also enters the foaming chamber with the foaming agent, forces the liquid through the openings in the discs to the venturi section. The openings in the center disc are angularly offset from the openings in the two outer discs, so that the discs form a maze through which the foamed liquid passes from the foaming chamber to the venturi. The venturi feeds the foamed liquid to a mixing chamber into which a resin is introduced under pressure through a spinner and orifice so that the foamed liquid is completely mixed with the resin before being discharged as a foamed plastic.

    摘要: The mat is arranged to be connected to an air distribution device and a blower, and comprises a substantially rectangular, flat, and relatively elongated hollow body of a suitable material, such as plastic or rubber, with upper and lower walls forming, respectively, upper and lower support surfaces for a patient's body, and interconnected by side and end walls. The body has an upper portion, including the upper wall, formed with a plurality of air chambers and with air passages, and a lower portion, including the lower wall, having ribs or elevations extending therefrom. The upper wall is pressure-formed to define a plurality of channels or grooves extending longitudinally and centrally of the body and a plurality of channels or grooves extending laterally outwardly from the central grooves or channels. The bases of these grooves are formed with perforations opening through the upper wall. An air distributing manifold is incorporated in the body and the air passages establish at least partial communication between the air chambers and further establish electrically controllable communication between individual air chambers and the manifold. Further elongated chambers extend along each longer peripheral edge of the body, and have perforations directed through the side walls closely adjacent to the lower wall of the body. In one embodiment, respective coupling sleeves are provided on the upper and lower walls at the manifold, with one coupling sleeve communicating with the central and laterally extending chambers and the other coupling sleeve communicating with the chambers extending along the longer edge of the body. In another embodiment of the invention, two coupling sleeves are provided on the upper wall of the body, one communicating with the centrally and laterally extending air chambers and the other communicating with the air chambers extending along the longer peripheral edges of the body. If the body is made of fully flexible material, supports may be provided extending from the upper wall to engage the lower wall, and these supports are tapered in a downward direction.

    摘要: Water sprays and foam, of the type used for fire fighting, have been used for dust suppression; but were not effective in removing the smaller particles from dust laden air. This invention uses a foam of high film strength that makes possible the bending of the foamed film to shorter radiuses of curvature and resultng smaller bubbles. Such a foam can be used to remove all of the detectable particulate matter from dust laden air or other gases.
