摘要: A floor nozzle assembly and systems and methods thereof for delivering a fire suppressant foam to a protected area. The nozzle assembly has a body and deflector in contact with one another to form a plurality of passageways through which a fire suppressant flows. The deflector has a deflector flange and a plurality of projecting members in contact with the body to form the passageways. The nozzle assembly has one or more of the following: i) a radial outer portion at each projecting member having a plurality of curved edges with at least two different curvatures; ii) each passageway is formed by parallel planar sidewalls; iii) the projecting members extend radially over a majority radial length of the deflector flange; and/or iv) the deflector flange has, with respect to a horizontal, a surface at an angle that is less than a support surface of the nozzle body.

摘要: The present invention discloses a device for testing control of polymorphic foam on flowing fire, comprising a test bench, a combustible liquid injecting mechanism and a polymorphic foam spraying mechanism. The combustible liquid injecting mechanism and the polymorphic foam spraying mechanism are relatively arranged on the test bench. The combustible liquid injecting mechanism can spray combustible liquid to the test bench. The polymorphic foam spraying mechanism can spray polymorphic foam to the test bench, and the spraying direction of the polymorphic foam is relative to the spraying direction of the combustible liquid. The present invention can be used for testing and observing cut-off and control effects of polymorphic foam on combustible liquid flowing fire.

摘要: A high pressure water/foam nozzle assembly is disclosed which includes a barrel having a first end, a second end and a collar positioned about the first end. The assembly also includes first, second and third nozzles positioned in the barrel. Each of the nozzles can emit a different spray pattern. A selection mechanism is positioned adjacent to the second end of the barrel and is rotatable between three positions which align with the three nozzles. The assembly further includes a control mechanism secured to the second end of the selection mechanism which controls the flow of water and/or foam through one of the three nozzles. A handle and trigger are connected to the control mechanism. The trigger activates the flow of water and/or foam through one of the three nozzles. An infrared camera is removably secured to the control mechanism and is used to detect hot spots in a fire.

摘要: A pneumatically powered foam sprayer is provided. The foam sprayer includes a spray hose having a spray nozzle, a trigger assembly proximate the spray nozzle, and a pressure-actuated valve responsive to the trigger assembly. An air conduit extends between the pressure-actuated valve and an opening in the trigger assembly. Obstructing the opening with a hand, a finger or a thumb creates a change of air pressure within the air conduit and actuates the pressure-actuated valve to selectively allow the supply of foam into the spray hose. The air conduit may extends longitudinally through an interior portion of the spray hose, or along an exterior portion of the spray hose, and can include a laminar, chemical-resistant outer surface. An internal pump is powered by compressed air through the pressure-actuated valve, and the spray nozzle remains open both during and between uses to prevent the accumulation of pressurized foam within the spray hose.

摘要: A nozzle assembly for encapsulating a gaseous solution in bubbles comprises a discharge tube having a diffuser and a foam solution spray nozzle mounted therein. The discharge tube has upstream and downstream ends. The discharge tube has a front face at the upstream end with a first opening configured to be joined to a gas supply line that provides a gaseous solution and a second opening configured to receive a non-expanded foam solution. The downstream end of the discharge tube is open. A chamber is formed within the discharge tube to receive the gaseous solution at the upstream end and release the gaseous solution through the diffuser into the discharge tube towards the downstream end.

摘要: An apparatus for protecting a structure from fire includes a foam generation system by mixing compressed air, water from a pump and a foaming agent from a metered supply together with a series of motor driven nozzles and a control device which is programable to provide a program of operation to control the motors of the nozzles so as to pre-determine a pattern by which a building is repeatedly covered by a layer of the foam. The control device can include plurality of different programs of operation of the nozzles with different times for different fire conditions. A remote control allows the apparatus to be activated from a safe remote location. An arrangement is provided to automatically start the foam generation system including an internal combustion engine.

摘要: A foam expansion tube for a fire fighting nozzle includes a tubular body with a longitudinal axis and a passageway extending there through along the longitudinal axis for directing a foam and water mixture from a fire fighting nozzle. The passageway has a larger diameter than the outlet of the nozzle to provide an expansion tube for the foam/water mixture. The tubular body further includes an inlet end and an outlet end, with the inlet end having an inlet adapted for mounting to the outlet of the fire fighting nozzle for receiving the foam/water mixture into the passageway and having at least one opening to allow air to be drawn into the passageway for mixing with the foam/water mixture flowing through the passageway. The tube further includes a structure that extends into the passageway wherein the structure separates the foam/water mixture to further enhance the expansion of the foam and water mixture.

摘要: A self-powered foam (e.g. compressed-air foam (CAF)) distributor has a rotor mechanism with impingement surfaces against which foam impinges to rotate the rotor. The rotor is mounted on an inlet shaft geared to an output shaft. A rotary outlet is mounted to the output shaft so that foam entering the distributor rotates the rotary outlet, which in turn projects foam around in a circular sweep. The rotary outlet can rotate over a full 360 degrees, providing superior coverage for a large floor space, such as in hangars or warehouses, with less water and concentrate than in unfoamed conventional systems. Having a compact vertical profile this versatile distributor can be installed in a floor trench of a hangar or on a wall or ceiling. Since all rotational energy is harnessed from the pressure of the foam itself, no external energy source is required to power the distributor.
