摘要： An adjustable contaminated mixing apparatus includes a reactor head and a down tube extending from the reactor head. A plurality of ports are formed in the reactor head and configured to impart a spinning motion to the contaminated liquid as it passes from the reactor head into the down tube. Each port is adapted to receive a flow restrictor to permit selectively control of velocity and flow volume of the liquid through the down tube. Typically, the flow restrictors are removable flow restriction plugs inserted into in a removable cartridge of the reactor head.

摘要： A pair of concentric tubes having an inlet and an outlet with the outer tube being closed at either end and the inner tube having a plurality of holes with compound angles designed to impart a swirling motion of the air admitted into the interior of the inner mixing tube. The holes are judiciously located around the inner tube for creating a swirling pattern. The inlet of the tubes leads the dry particles of two different compositions intended to be mixed into the mixer and the outlet leads the mixture to the next station utilizing the mixture. Air admitted internally of the outer tube feed the plurality of holes and the force of the air can be controlled to control the transport of the mixed particles.

摘要： A sulfuric acid-catalyzed alkylation reactor system is provided for alkylating isoparaffins with olefins to produce hydrocarbon alkylates. The reactor vessel has a vertical cylindrical wall, a top, an inverted conical bottom portion, internal perforated baffles and multiple emulsion injection inlet pipes, disposed tangentially to and communicating with the interior of the reactor vessel. The emulsion injection inlet pipes have static mixers incorporated therein and tangential injection of the emulsion imparts a circular motion to the contents of the reactor vessel, resulting in partial phase separation of the reacted products. The reactor vessel communicates with a settling vessel through a transfer pipe having a vertical portion suspended within the central portion of the reactor vessel and a horizontal portion sealably extending through the cylindrical wall of the reactor vessel. The transfer pipe has a first end near the conical bottom portion of the reactor vessel and a second end at a top portion of the settling vessel. The reactor system enables a sulfuric-acid catalyzed reaction of olefins with isoparaffins utilizing static mixing of the reactants, and minimizing leakage of the reactants to the environment.

摘要： The production of a water-in-oil emulsion proceeds by an exact dosing of the desired water-oil ratio in a dosing apparatus. The dosed mixture is fed into a mixing chamber for producing the emulsion proper. Thereafter, the emulsion is fed out of the chamber via a funnel-like narrowing outlet into a storage tank, within which the emulsion is kept in permanent motion. A partial quantity of the emulsion is drawn off this chamber and returned possibly together with newly made emulsion to the mixing chamber. A further partial quantity of the emulsion is drawn off the storage tank and fed to the consumer. The conveying of the mixture and maintaining of the circulation, resp. is achieved by a pump located ahead of the mixing chamber. The apparatus has specific application for the production of a water-in-oil emulsion for the operation of combustion engines or oil burners.

摘要： A swirl mixing device adaptable as a spray nozzle or as a fluid mixing chamber for substantially complete mixing of two or more fluids is described. The device comprises a container having a closed end and an exhaust. At least two fluid injection chambers are defined within the container, the first of the chambers being located between the closed end and the second of the chambers. A first injector is arranged to inject a first fluid to be mixed into the first injection chamber with an angular momentum in one direction, and a second injector is arranged to inject a second fluid to be mixed into the second chamber with an angular momentum in the opposite direction to that of the first fluid. The fluids meet near an opening in a collar separating the two chambers, and an exit opening from the second chamber provides a fluid flow path to the exhaust.

摘要： A method of reconstituting a powdered cell culture media includes providing a mixing apparatus and providing a powdered cell culture media to the fluid chamber of the mixing apparatus, prior to introducing fluid to the chamber. The method further includes introducing fluid to the chamber through an influent port, wherein the influent port is tangentially oriented relative to an inner wall of the fluid chamber to thereby cause the fluid to follow the wall of the fluid chamber in a circular motion, creating a vortex flow in the fluid chamber by introducing fluid at a sufficient flow rate, and enhancing the vortex flow with a geometric fluid flow aid by further channeling the water around the wall of the fluid chamber, around the geometric flow aid. The method further includes continuing to introduce fluid to the chamber and collecting reconstituted fluid that exits the chamber through the effluent port.
