A base station may transmit a synchronization signal block (SSB) burst set including a first set of SSBs transmitted using a first codebook and a second set of SSBs transmitted using a second codebook. In some cases, the first codebook may be configured for beamforming at a first transmission distance range (e.g., for far field transmissions) and the second codebook may be configured for beamforming at a second transmission distance range (e.g., for near field transmissions). Based on transmitting the SSB burst, the base station may receive an indication of a first SSB from the first set or the second set from a user equipment (UE). The base station may then communicate messages to the UE using a transmission beam and codebook associated with the first SSB indicated by the UE.

The UE may identify a blockage corresponding to one or more antenna arrays of a set of antenna arrays based on using a first set of beam weights, which may correspond to a static beamforming codebook of the one or more antenna arrays. The UE may switch from a static beamforming codebook-based beam weight determination to a dynamic beamforming codebook-based beam weight determination. The UE may then determine a second set of beam weights to use for the one or more antenna arrays based on the dynamic beamforming codebook-based beam weight determination. The UE may then communicate using the one or more antenna arrays according to the second set of beam weights.

The UE may transmit a report to the base station indicating one or more polarization parameters associated with beam pairs identified in the beam sweep procedure, such as one or more orthogonality parameters, one or more polarization parameters relating to one or more beam pairs, or one or more angular spread parameters. Based on the report, the base station may transmit a beam configuration to the UE for polarization MIMO communications.

The apparatus also includes at least one antenna assembly with at least one radiating element, at least one feed via, and a conductive cage. The radiating element is implemented on a first plane that is substantially parallel to the ground plane. The feed via is connected to the at least one radiating element and is configured to connect to at least one transmission line through the opening. The conductive cage includes at least three ground vias, which are connected to the ground plane at positions that are distributed around the opening. Lengths of the at least three ground vias extend a portion of a distance between the ground plane and the radiating element.

    摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may use transmissions causing power density exposure (PDE) to nearby users. To reduce the PDE of an antenna module (e.g., below a maximum PDE threshold), the UE may implement a shielding strip around the antenna module. For example, the antenna module may include a substrate having a first surface and a set of antenna elements on the first surface. The shielding strip may enclose the set of antenna elements of the antenna module and extend away from the first surface above the antenna elements. The shielding strip may reduce PDE outside a field of view of the antenna module. Additionally, in some cases, the placement of the antenna module in the UE and the materials used for constructing the UE may further reduce PDE.

    摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support beam correlation across frequency bands for beam selection in the event of a frequency switch. For example, a base station may determine a configuration indicating a mapping between a set of beam identifiers (IDs) and a set of angle coverage ranges for a set of frequency ranges which corresponds to a user equipment's (UE) operating frequencies. In some examples, the UE may undergo a frequency switch and switch from a first operating frequency to a second operating frequency. The UE may select a beam ID based on the mapping and communicate with the base station via the second operating frequency using a beam associated with the selected beam ID.
