摘要: Antennas include first and second radiating elements that are configured to operate in respective operating frequency bands. The first radiating element includes a first dipole arm that has a first conductive path and a second conductive path that is positioned behind the first conductive path. The first conductive path includes a plurality of first segments and the second conductive path includes a plurality of second segments, where a subset of the first segments overlap respective ones of second segments to form a plurality of pairs of overlapping first and second segments. At least some of the pairs of overlapping segments are configured so that the instantaneous direction of a first current formed on the first segment in response to RF radiation emitted by the second radiating element will be substantially opposite the instantaneous direction of a second current formed on the second segment in response to the RF radiation.

摘要: An artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) antenna apparatus includes a ground plane and a flexible antenna element layer above the ground plane. The ground plane includes a conductive base surface, a plurality of memory metal wires, and a frequency selective surface (FSS) layer above the base surface, where the FSS layer includes a plurality of conductive patches separated from one another. Each of the memory metal wires electrically connects one of the conductive patches to the base surface. Each of the memory metal wires is rigid in a memory-shaped state, causing the FSS layer to be fixedly spaced from the base surface during operation of the AMC antenna apparatus. The memory metal wires are each flexible in a non-memory-shaped state, enabling the FSS layer to be collapsed towards the base surface when the antenna apparatus is stowed.

The feeder line and one balun ground are arranged opposite to each other at an interval. The open-stub and the other balun ground are arranged opposite to each other at an interval. The balun grounds are arranged between the feeder line and the open-stub.

摘要: Base station antenna include an RF port, a reflector, a linear array of radiating elements mounted to extend forwardly from the reflector, and a feed network that electrically connects the RF port to each of the radiating elements in the linear array. The radiating elements are configured to operate in a first frequency band. A first of the radiating elements is a cross-dipole radiating element that includes a feed stalk, a cross-dipole radiator that includes a first −45° polarization dipole radiator and a first +45° polarization dipole radiator mounted on the feed stalk, and an active director that includes a second −45° polarization dipole radiator and a second +45° polarization dipole radiator mounted forwardly of the cross-dipole radiator. Both the cross-dipole radiator and the active director are coupled to the feed network.

摘要: A low profile phased array antenna that is configured to be manufactured using additive manufacturing techniques is provided. In one or more embodiments, the phased array can include a plurality of signal ears, ground ears, and clustered pillars that can be arranged in relation to a base plate such that each component of the antenna can be manufactured from a single piece of material, thereby allowing for the use of additive manufacturing techniques which can substantially reduce the cost and time of the manufacturing process. The phased array can include a signal ear that include one or more posts that interface with an airgap located within a base plate of the array, wherein the size of the airgap in relation to the size of the post is configured to achieve an optimal level of impedance matching.
