Abstract:
We describe an input buffer having a stabilized operating point and an associated method. An input buffer may include a first differential amplifying unit to generate a first output signal having a first operating point and a second differential amplifying unit to generate a second output signal having a second operating point. An output control circuit varies respective weights of the first and second output signals responsive to an output control signal. The first differential amplifying unit may operate responsive to a reference voltage and an input voltage signal. The second differential amplifying unit may operate responsive to the reference voltage and the input voltage signal. The first operating point may be relatively higher than the second operating point.
Abstract:
A golf ball has a thin intermediate layer, within specified thickness and hardness, situated between a ball core and cover layer. The thin intermediate layer provides for a ball having superior ball spin performance without loss of ball speed. Particular compositions for the intermediate layer, along with methods for spray-coating of a ball core, compression molding over a ball core, and grinding down of a thick intermediate layer that are particularly suited for making this thin intermediate layer, also are disclosed.
Abstract:
A backlight inverter for an LCD panel of an asynchronous pulse width modulation (PWM) driving type which is capable of driving a plurality of cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) in pairs and controlling a plurality of PWM drive signals for respective operations of the lamps to make the phases thereof different. The backlight inverter comprises a main driving integrated circuit (IC), at least one sub-driving IC, and a plurality of lamp operating circuits for operating the pairs of lamps in response to the first and second PWM drive signals and the third and fourth PWM drive signals, respectively. The lamps have different PWM on/off periods so that overshoot of a power supply circuit can be reduced so as to keep the entire system power stable.
Abstract:
A positive-displacement oil pump is disclosed. In the oil pump, an insert body is fitted into a central opening of a shaft body to a height of an oil-feeding hole. The insert body is rotated along with the shaft body, and includes a central hole formed in the insert body, a cylindrical lip formed around an outlet of the central hole, a fluid discharge diode provided in an inlet of the central hole, and an inclined groove formed around an outer circumferential surface of the insert body such that the inclined groove forms a closed curve. A piston is movably fitted over the insert body such that the piston is axially moved while changing a volume of a displacement space defined between the insert body and the piston.
Abstract:
The present invention provides processes for the preparation of the KH-1 and N3 antigens, as well as related analgoues thereof, which are useful as anticancer therapeutics. The present invention also provides various intermediates useful in the preparation of KH-1 and N3 and analogues thereof. Additionally, the invention provides various compositions comprising any of the analogues of KH-1 and N3 available through the methods of the invention and pharmaceutical carriers useful in the treatment of subjects suffering from various forms of epithelial cancer.
Abstract:
A single-ended sense amplifier and a memory device including the same are presented. A sense amplifier, which senses and amplifies data of a memory cell, may include a precharge circuit pre-charging a data line which is connected to the memory cell and provides a sensing voltage, and a reference line which provides a reference voltage, with a power supply voltage; a reference voltage generating circuit which generates the reference voltage by discharging the reference line based on a reference current, and adjusts an amount of the reference current based on the data of the memory cell; and a comparator which compares the sensing voltage and the reference voltage, and outputs a comparison result as the data of the memory cell.
Abstract:
An electronic device and a user interface implementing method therein are disclosed. The method includes displaying at least one content, displaying a shortcut key corresponding to the at least one content if close contact is detected, and executing a function corresponding to the at least one content if the shortcut key is selected. The shortcut key can invoke a function corresponding to the at least one content if an input tool closely approaches the at least one content in an area on the touch screen and is located within a distance from the surface of the touch screen.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus and method for controlling a portable terminal. The apparatus includes a contact sensing unit which senses an area of an external surface of the portable terminal contacted by a user as the user holds the portable terminal, a recognizing unit which recognizes a function mode of the portable terminal based on information about the contacted area sensed by the contact sensing unit, and a control unit which changes the portable terminal to a function mode recognized by the recognizing unit. Since a function mode of the portable terminal is controlled according to the way a user holds the portable terminal, convenience of changing a function mode of the portable terminal is provided through a single manipulation.
Abstract:
A method for installing an application includes inputting a command to download the application, selecting a page to add an identifier for executing the application, and displaying the identifier on the selected page.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for treating boil-off gas generated in an LNG storage tank of an LNG carrier for transporting LNG in a cryogenic liquid state, the LNG carrier having a boil-off gas reliquefaction plant, wherein an amount of boil-off gas corresponding to a treatment capacity of the reliquefaction plant among the total amount of boil-off gas generated during the voyage of the LNG carrier is discharged from the LNG storage tank and reliquefied by the reliquefaction plant. The boil-off gas treating method and apparatus can maintain an amount of boil-off gas discharged from an LNG storage tank at a constant level by storing in the LNG storage tank, instead of discharging and burning, surplus boil-off gas which has not been returned to the LNG storage tank through the reliquefaction plant among the total amount of boil-off gas generated in the LNG storage tank, and can prevent waste of boil-off gas and save energy by allowing an internal pressure of the LNG storage tank to be increased.
