摘要: Datalink frames or networking packets contain protocol information in the header and optionally in the trailer of a frame or a packet. We are proposing a method in which part of or all of the protocol information corresponding to a frame or a packet is transmitted separately in another datalink frame. The “Separately Transmitted Protocol Information” is referred to as STPI. The STPI contains enough protocol information to identify the next hop node or port. STPI can be used avoid network congestion and improve link efficiency. Preferably, there will be one datalink frame or network packet corresponding to each STPI, containing the data and the rest of the protocol information and this frame/packet is referred to as DFONP. The creation of STPI and DFoNP is done by the originator of the frame or packet such as an operating system.

摘要: A packet is transmitted from a remote device over a communication network. A fragment detector detects one or more fragments in a field of the packet, where the field is associated with a session layer or higher abstraction layer of an open systems interconnect (OSI) model. Fragment information is extracted from the packet which indicates one or more of a last fragment index associated with a last fragment of one or more fragment in the packet and a fragment count indicative of a number of fragments associated with a message which is fragmented. Interrupts associated with the packet with other interrupts associated with other packets are coalesced based on one or more of the last fragment index and the fragment count.

摘要: A method is described that comprises collecting communication data travelling among a plurality of computing nodes in a networked environment. The method includes using the communication data to create a plurality of connectivity records, wherein each connectivity record comprises a communication between a source computing node and a destination computing node of the plurality of computing nodes. The method includes associating the communication with an application context and protocol. The method includes processing the plurality of connectivity records to eliminate connectivity records that meet at least one criteria, wherein the plurality of connectivity records includes associated application contexts and protocols, wherein a first portion of the plurality of connectivity records comprises the eliminated connectivity records, wherein a second portion of the plurality of connectivity records comprises the remainder of the connectivity records. The method includes building a graph using the second portion of the connectivity records.

摘要: A digital data communications network that supports efficient, scalable routing of data and use of network resources by combining a recursive division of the network into hierarchical sub-networks with repeating parameterized general purpose link communication protocols and an addressing methodology that reflects the physical structure of the underlying network hardware. The sub-division of the network enhances security by reducing the amount of the network visible to an attack and by insulating the network hardware itself from attack. The fixed bandwidth range at each sub-network level allows quality of service to be assured and controlled. The routing of data is aided by a topological addressing scheme that allows data packets to be forwarded towards their destination based on only local knowledge of the network structure, with automatic support for mobility and multicasting. The repeating structures in the network greatly simplify network management and reduce the effort to engineer new network capabilities.

摘要: An apparatus comprising an application cross-stratum optimization (CSO) gateway (ACG) coupled to an application layer that handles a plurality of servers, a network CSO gateway (NCG) coupled to a network layer that handles a plurality of network nodes and configured to communicate with the ACG using a CSO protocol (CSOP), and a CSO interface established between the ACG and the NCG that enables the exchange of a plurality of CSOP messages to allow joint application-network resource allocation, provisioning, and optimization. Also disclosed is a network apparatus implemented method comprising sending a user profile from a user plane to an application plane, sending an application profile from the application plane to a network plane via a CSO interface between an ACG and a NCG, and sending network capability information from the network plane to the application plane via the CSO interface.
