Abstract: A manufacturing method for a metallic housing of an electronic device is provided. The method includes providing a die-casting mold including a male die and a female die; positioning an outer frame in a cavity of the female die, the outer frame including a plurality of latching portions protruding from an inner surface inwardly and a plurality of latching grooves, each latching portion including at least one receiving groove; assembling the male die to the female die; casting pressured molten metal-alloy into the cavity to form an inner structural member embedded in the outer frame, the inner structural member including a plurality of engaging portions respectively embedded in the plurality of receiving grooves, and a plurality of matching portions respectively embedded in the plurality of latching grooves; dissembling the male die from the female die; and removing the outer frame and the inner structural member from the female die.

Abstract: Methods for casting high strength, high ductility lightweight metal components are provided. The casting may be die-casting. A molten lightweight metal alloy is introduced into a cavity of a mold. The molten lightweight metal alloy is solidified and then a solid component is removed from the mold. The solid component is designed to have a thin wall. For example, the solid component has at least one dimension of less than or equal to about 2 mm. In this way, a chill zone microstructure is formed that extends across the at least one dimension of the solid lightweight metal alloy component. The solid component thus may be substantially free of dendritic microstructure formation, enabling more extensive alloy chemistries than previously possible during casting. Such methods may be used to form high strength, high ductility, and lightweight metal alloy vehicle components.

The channel is configured to extend through a wall thickness of the component from an inner surface of the component to an outer surface of the component. The channel is defined by an inner channel surface. The insert is configured to permit flow cooling fluid such as air and has an outer insert surface corresponding to and attached to the inner channel surface. The component may be a turbine component. Also provided is a method for forming the component.

Abstract: A method for preparing semisolid slurry. The method is achieved using a device for preparing semisolid slurry. The device includes a slurry vessel and a mechanical stirring rod. The mechanical stirring rod includes a first end and a second end extending into the slurry vessel. The method includes: S1. putting a molten alloy having a first preset temperature into the slurry vessel; S2. cooling the molten alloy to a second preset temperature, positioning the second end of the mechanical stirring rod to be 5-25 mm higher than the bottom wall of the slurry vessel, rotating the mechanical stirring rod and injecting a cooling medium into the mechanical stirring rod; and S3: allowing the temperature of the molten alloy to be 10-90 degrees centigrade lower than the liquidus temperature of the molten alloy, stopping stirring and cooling, to yield a semisolid slurry.

Abstract: A die casting machine includes a clamping device 7 which opens and closes and clamps a pair of die halves, an injection apparatus which performs injection to the pair of die halves by making a plunger move forward in a sleeve communicated with a space between the pair of die halves, and a control device which controls the clamping device and injection apparatus. The control device includes an injection control part and press-use clamping control part. The injection control part controls the injection apparatus so as to start the injection in a state where the pair of die halves face each other through a gap. The press-use clamping control part controls the clamping device so that the die contact and clamping are carried out after the start of injection. Further, the injection control part performs control for decelerating the plunger before the plunger stops.
