Abstract: A magnetic sensor for detecting magnetism generated from a conductor in which a current flows in a first direction includes a magnetic detection unit capable of detecting the magnetism, a magnetization core, and a magnetic shield. The magnetization core includes a first core section, which is substantially parallel to the first direction, and a second core section and third core section, which are each continuous from both end portions of the first core section in a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction. The second core section and the third core section each extend from an end portion of the first core section to follow a third direction that is orthogonal to the first direction and the second direction. The magnetic detection unit has a sensitivity direction in the second direction and is positioned in a core gap sandwiched between the vicinity of the end portion of the second core section and the vicinity of the end portion of the third core section in the third direction. The magnetic shield includes a plate-shaped shield portion positioned to overlap the core gap when viewed along the third direction.

Abstract: A medical device is configured to monitor, using one or more sensors, an environmental condition of a physical environment proximate to a medical device, and to determine when a value representative of the environmental condition exceeds a threshold for safe operation of the medical device with regard to care of a patient. Responsive to the value exceeding the threshold, an operation mode of the medical device is automatically switched from a first mode currently programmed for the care of the patient to a second mode, the second mode using different parameters than the first mode to control the medical device.

A magnetic field profile is generated based on current drawn by the security device from a power source while the security device is executing the one or more commands, the generated magnetic field profile indicating an authentication response of the security device to the authentication challenge for use in determining authenticity of the security device.

Abstract: An animal trap sensor includes a base having a distal end and a proximal end, a switch having a first metallic element and a second metallic element, and a signal unit, in which, when the first metallic element contacting the second metallic element, thereby forming a closed circuit, such that the signal unit transmits a signal to an off-site receiver. Or, an animal trap sensor includes a first portion and a second portion electrically connected with a signal unit including a power supply, in which, when the first and the second portions are disposed at a first distance between each other, thereby generating an output property, in which, when the first and the second portions are disposed at a second distance between each other, which is different from the first distance, thereby changing the output property and causing the signal unit to transmit a signal to an off-site receiver.

Abstract: A method of determining a gradient of a magnetic field, includes the steps of: biasing a first/second magnetic sensor with a first/second biasing signal; measuring and amplifying a first/second magnetic sensor signal; measuring a temperature and/or a stress difference; adjusting at least one of: the second biasing signal, the second amplifier gain, the amplified and digitized second sensor value using a predefined function f(T) or f(T, ΔΣ) or f(ΔΣ) of the measured temperature and/or the measured differential stress before determining a difference between the first/second signal/value derived from the first/second sensor signal. A magnetic sensor device is configured for performing this method, as well as a current sensor device, and a position sensor device.
