    Abstract: A method comprising receiving a purchase action from a first user device associated with a user, creating and storing a first cookie associated with the purchase action. The method includes receiving, from a second user device, a request for cookie data related to products viewed on a platform other than the second user device, and identifying the first cookie in response to the request for cookie data. The method includes determining a platform type of the second user device, and generating a second cookie compliant with the platform type of the second user device. The method includes sending the generated second cookie to the second user device.

    Abstract: Techniques of automatic subscription control in distributed computing systems are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method includes using a server to monitor a utilization level of an automatically subscribed computing service by a user. The method also includes determining whether the utilization level of the user with the automatically subscribed computing service is below a preset threshold. When the utilization level of the user is below the preset threshold, the server automatically unsubscribes the user from the computing service. While the computing service remains automatically unsubscribed to by the user, the server can monitor for a new version or update of the computing service. Upon detecting a new version or update, the server can automatically re-subscribe the user to the computing service of the new version without user input.

    Abstract: A computing device supports multiple different network interfaces providing respective connections to, for example WiFi, short-range and near field communication (NFC), and mobile data (e.g., cellular) networks, over which bandwidth-consuming applications may operate. An operating system (OS) instantiated on the computing device supports a connection manager configured to dynamically and concurrently optimize utilization of the available network connections across the executing applications to provide seamless user experiences on the device while meeting various user objectives. These objectives may include, for example, maximizing device battery life, minimizing costs associated with use of mobile data plans and other metered network connections, minimizing glitches, data buffering, and disruptions (e.g., when streaming multimedia, downloading files, and engaging in real-time communications like voice and video calls), and transparency of operation as the diverse network connections are utilized.
