    Abstract: Wall openings in a mandrel of a liner hanger/packer are eliminated and setting is accomplished with pressure against a landed object in a running tool. The wall of the running tool leads to a sealed annular space with a movable seal attached to a setting sleeve and the other end is a packer cup supported by the running tool. The setting sleeve sequentially sets the slips and releases the running tool followed by setting the packer seal. Optionally a dog sub can be used to set with set down weight on the setting sleeve. The set positions are locked in. The slips can be alternatively set with release of a contained spring force. The setting sleeve seal can be sheared out to allow removal of the running tool.

    Abstract: An apparatus for activating a wellbore tool includes a cylinder, a shaft, and a pressure dissipater. The cylinder has a first inner surface defining a smooth bore section and a second inner surface adjacent to the first inner surface. The shaft has a piston section that includes at least one seal forming a fluid seal with the first inner surface when the seal is at a nominal diameter. The pressure dissipater is formed along the second inner surface of the cylinder, the pressure dissipater contacts and physically destabilizes the at least one seal after the at least one seal exits the smooth bore section.

    Abstract: A downhole tool for performing a wellbore operation includes a perforating gun, a detector module connected to the perforating gun, wherein the detector module transmits a command in response to a signal, a signal generator configured to transmit the signal to the detector module, and a plug dropping mechanism located adjacent to the detector module, the plug dropping mechanism releasing an object upon receiving the command from the detector module. The perforating gun is fired, and the downhole tool is activated. A plug-mate positioned adjacent to the plug dropping mechanism receives the object. The plug-mate has a profile complementary to the object, and the plug-mate and the object cooperating to block flow along the wellbore. In another mode of operation, an actuation member actuates the plug-mate. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract, which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the general subject matter of the technical disclosure.

    Abstract: A pressure intensifier for morphing tubulars downhole. An elongate mandrel defines an inner bore, being co-axially located within an elongate hollow outer cylindrical body to form a co-axial annular bore therebetween. Pistons are mounted upon the mandrel with each piston having an annular fluid facing face extending across the annular bore, with fluid communication between the inner bore and the annular bore to act upon each face. Stops are located on an inner surface of the outer cylindrical body to limit travel of each piston. A morph fluid is located in the annular bore between an opposing face of a first piston and a first stop, with the first stop having delivery ports to deliver the morph fluid at a greater pressure than the pressure of fluid delivered through the inner bore.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a downhole activation assembly for activating a downhole component of a downhole tool positionable in a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation. The activation assembly includes a housing operatively connectable to the downhole tool, a piston slidably positionable in the housing with a chamber defined therebetween, and a valve. The piston has a flow channel therethrough. The valve is positionable about the flow channel of the piston, the valve comprising a fixed plate and a rotatable plate. The rotatable plate is movable about the fixed plate to define a variable bore to selectively restrict flow through the flow channel and to vary pressure about the piston whereby the piston is selectively moved to shift the downhole component between activation positions.
