摘要: Processes and methods exist for decreasing emissions of mercury upon combustion of fossil fuels such as coal. Halide salts can be effective when used at locations where they are thermally decomposed to form reactive halogen species, or in combination with an adsorbent material such as activated carbon. Halide salts, such as calcium bromide and sodium bromide, are not typically used at locations downstream of the economizer, where the temperature is typically below around 500° C., because these salts are non-thermolabile and do not decompose to produce reactive halogen species. However, in flue gas streams that certain flue gas constituents, such as sulfur trioxide or sulfuric acid, reactive halogen species can be produced via chemical reaction. These species react with elemental mercury through various means to form an oxidized form of mercury that is more easily captured in downstream pollution control devices such as particulate control devices or SO2 scrubbers.

摘要: The system and method for preventing air leakage from the process side to the bearing side of a mill. The system includes a labyrinth seal ring comprising a series of knives defining first and second labyrinth paths from an air inlet to the process side and the bearing side of the system, respectively. The differences in the two paths such as provided by the number of knives used in each path creates a differential pressure drop which biases air from the air inlet to the process side. The labyrinth seal thus provides a reliable and superior method for reducing the potential for particulate in the process side of the mill from damaging the bearing system.

摘要: The present invention is included within the field of energy production from carbonaceous fuels with capture of carbon dioxide for its use or permanent storage and in particular relates to devices and methods which enable the improved capture of CO2 by CaO in calcination-carbonation processes due to the use of a recarbonator where the partially carbonated solids from the carbonator are brought into contact with highly concentrated CO2; so that the fraction of carbonate in the solids increases slightly above the effective CO2 carrying capacity in the carbonator and said increase compensates the loss of effective CO2 carrying capacity that said solids undergo in the following calcination-carbonation cycle, thus checking the deactivation process in a higher value of CO2 carrying capacity of the sorbent.
