Abstract: Systems and methods for wireless device triggered connection resume with early data transmission are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless device for triggering a connection resume with early data transmission comprises sending, to a radio access node, a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) message for resuming an RRC connection of the wireless device. The first RRC message comprises uplink data for early data transmission and Access Stratum (AS) Release Assistance Information (RAI). The AS RAI comprises information that indicates that no subsequent downlink and uplink data are expected, information that indicates that a single subsequent downlink data packet is expected, or information that indicates that multiple subsequent data packets are expected in downlink and/or uplink. The method further comprises receiving a second RRC message from the radio access node.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method, an apparatus for a synchronization of a status of a QoS flow in a communication system. A method is performed at a terminal device, for a synchronization of a status of a quality of service, QoS, flow in a communication system. The method comprises: deleting (S101) the QoS flow locally; marking (S102) a status of the QoS flow as being deleted and not synchronized; and transmitting (S103) a protocol data unit, PDU, session modification request to synchronize the status of the QoS flow. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, when the status of the QoS Flow is changed by one of the terminal device or the network side in some scenarios, the status of the QoS Flow can still be synchronized.

Abstract: A method performed in a mobility management node includes the mobility management node receiving a first Packet Data Network (PDN) activation request from a wireless local area network (WLAN) access gateway, the first PDN activation request specifying an access point name (APN) and a tunnel endpoint identifier (TEID) parameter for identifying the WLAN access gateway, the WLAN access gateway connected to a user equipment (UE). The method further includes in response to receiving the PDN activation request, the mobility management node (i) selecting a Packet Data Network Gateway (PGW) based on the specified APN, (ii) generating a second PDN activation session request that includes the TEID parameter for identifying the WLAN access gateway, (iii) selecting a serving gateway (SGW), and (iv) forwarding the second PDN activation request to the selected SGW.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for operating RAN and CN nodes are disclosed. An example method of operating a RAN node includes receiving, from a CN node, a PDU for a wireless device that is in an inactive state. The RAN node pages the wireless device in response to receiving the PDU from the CN node. The RAN node sends a non-delivery message to the CN node in response to failure of the paging for the wireless device, where the non-delivery message includes an indication that the wireless device is in the inactive state.An example method of operating a CN node includes the CN node sending a PDU for a wireless device to a RAN node. The CN node then receives a non-delivery message from the RAN node, where the non-delivery message includes an indication that the wireless device is in an inactive state.

The ePDG engaging in setting up a first MNO bearer between the MNO ePDG and the MNO PGW; engaging in setting up a first IPsec tunnel between the UE and the MNO ePDG; engaging setting up a second MNO bearer between the MNO ePDG and the MNO PGW, and requesting setting up a second IPsec tunnel between the UE and the MNO ePDG, for providing differentiated services for the UE.

Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method of paging policy differentiation in a 5G telecommunications network is provided. A User Plane Function (UPF) receives downlink data for a target User Equipment (UE), and provides a data notification to a Session Management Function (SMF), the data notification comprising a Quality of Service (QoS) indicator, which the SMF uses to determine QoS Information (QoSI) that is sent to an Access Management Function (AMF). The AMF determines whether a paging policy selection should be performed by the AMF or by a Radio Access Node (RAN) that serves the target UE: if by the AMF, the AMF selects a paging policy based on the QoSI and sends a paging message to the RAN, which pages the UE; if by the RAN, the AMF provides paging policy information to the RAN, which selects a paging policy and pages the UE accordingly.
