    Abstract: A LADAR system includes a transmitter configured to emit a directed optical signal. The LADAR system includes a shared optical aperture through which the directed optical signal is emitted. The shared optical aperture includes a first pupil plane. The shared optical aperture receives a return optical signal that is based on the directed optical signal. The system includes a mirror with a hole through which the directed optical signal passes. The mirror also reflects the return optical signal towards an imager. The imager receives the return optical signal and generates an image. The image is based on a portion of the return optical signal. The system also includes a partial aperture obscuration at a second pupil plane. The partial aperture obscuration may block a portion of internal backscatter in the return optical signal. The system also includes a focal plane to record the image.

    Abstract: An advance warning system including an antenna pair and an RWR system to receive first, second and third signals for computing a frequency for all the signals and a phase difference between the signals. If the frequencies are within a threshold frequency difference and the phase difference is less than a threshold phase difference, two signals can be associated. If the frequencies are not within the threshold frequency difference, the RWR system generates a set of ambiguous angle of arrival AoA for the signals and correlates the two sets of ambiguous AoA to determine if there is a common AoA. If there is a common AoA, a third set of ambiguous angle of arrival AoA for a third signal is generated to determine if the three sets correlate. If there is a common AoA for all three signals, the three signals are associated.

    Abstract: A method and system for data conversion includes an analog noise generator to generate a random, non-deterministic, analog noise signal. An adder adds the analog noise signal to an analog RF signal to produce a dithered analog signal. A first quantizer converts the analog noise signal to digital to produce a digital noise signal. A second quantizer converts the dithered analog signal to a digital equivalent signal. A digital dither adjustment module removes amplitude measurements of the digital noise signal from the digital equivalent signal to obtain a linearized digital representation of the analog RF signal.

    Abstract: A digital receiver includes a digital synthesizer that generates a local oscillating (LO) signal at a selected frequency, and a signal mixer that receives an input signal and generates a mixed output signal in response to shifting a phase of the input signal based on the frequency of the LO signal. A multi-mode dynamic channelizer is selectively operable in a first mode and a second mode. The first mode generates a plurality of individual channels having a channel size defined by a bandwidth and a gain, and the second mode generates a parallelization of a selected channel. In response to operating in the second mode, the multi-mode dynamic channelizer adjusts at least one of the bandwidth and the gain of the selected channel based on the mixed output signal to change the channel size of the selected channel.

    Abstract: A system for determining a direction for an electromagnetic signal. The system includes a receiving array antenna, including a plurality of antenna elements, each antenna element having a position in the receiving array antenna; a digitizer configured to receive an analog signal from each of the antenna elements, and to sample and digitize each of the analog signals to form a sequence of digitized samples from each of the analog signals; and a processing unit. The processing unit is configured to receive the sequences of sample values from the digitizer; and, for each direction of a plurality of hypothesized directions: combine the sample values from the plurality of antenna elements to form a single time record; fit the single time record with a combination of one or more functions of time; and identify a direction at which a measure of the magnitude of the linear combination is greatest.

    Abstract: Interferometric transform spectrometer (ITS) systems and methods of operation thereof. In one example, an ITS system includes a Michelson interferometer that introduces a varying optical path length difference (OPD) between its two arms so as to produce an interferogram, a detector that receives and samples the interferogram, and a scan controller coupled to the detector and to Michelson interferometer. The scan controller controls the Michelson interferometer to vary the OPD in discrete steps such that the detector provides M samples of the interferogram for each of two scan segments. In the first scan segment, the M samples have a uniform or non-uniform sample spacing and the OPD has a first maximum value. In the second scan segment, the M samples have an incrementally increasing sample spacing and the OPD has a second maximum value that is at least twice the first maximum value.
