Abstract: An image encoding/decoding method and apparatus are provided. An image decoding method performed by an image decoding apparatus comprises obtaining quantization mode information for a current block from a bitstream, determining whether a quantization matrix for the current block is constructed from a reference quantization matrix, based on the quantization mode information, and constructing the quantization matrix for the current block, based on a result of determination. When the quantization matrix for the current block is constructed from the reference quantization matrix, the quantization matrix for the current block may be constructed based on identification information of the reference quantization matrix. When the quantization matrix for the current block is not constructed from the reference quantization matrix, the quantization matrix for the current block may be constructed based on a value of the quantization matrix obtained from the bitstream. When the current block is an intra-predicted chroma block, the quantization matrix for the current block may be constructed only when a size of the current block is greater than 2×2.

An image decoding method includes deriving a first motion vector predictor for a first prediction direction of a current block and a second motion vector predictor for a second prediction direction, deriving a first motion vector difference for the first prediction direction of the current block and a second motion vector difference for the second prediction direction using information on a motion vector difference, and deriving a motion vector for the first prediction direction of the current block using the first motion vector predictor and the first motion vector difference and deriving a motion vector for the second prediction direction of the current block using the second motion vector predictor and the second motion vector difference. Based on first information specifying whether to parse information on the second motion vector difference, whether second information specifying a method of deriving the second motion vector difference may be determined.

Abstract: An image encoding/decoding method and apparatus include features of generating a prediction block by performing intra prediction on a current block, determining whether to apply position dependent intra prediction combination (PDPC) to the prediction block, and generating a final prediction block of the current block, by applying PDPC to the prediction block based on the determination. The determining whether to apply PDPC to the prediction block may include determining whether a size of the current block satisfies a predetermined condition. Based on the size of the current block satisfying the predetermined condition, it may be determined to apply PDPC to the prediction block. Based on the size of the current block not satisfying the predetermined condition, a determination of a color component of the current block may be skipped and it may be determined not to apply PDPC to the prediction block.

When the intra prediction mode of the corresponding luma block is not present, the intra prediction mode of the current chroma block is derived based on a default intra prediction mode.

When the quantization matrix for the current block is not constructed from the reference quantization matrix, the quantization matrix for the current block may be constructed based on a value of the quantization matrix obtained from the bitstream. When the current block is an intra-predicted chroma block, the quantization matrix for the current block may be constructed only when a size of the current block is greater than 2×2.
