Abstract:
A polishing device includes a wafer chuck mechanism which retains a wafer while its plane to be polished faces upward, a polishing pad component which possesses a polishing plane which polishes the wafer, a polishing head, and a shift mechanism which enables a relative displacement of said polishing pad component in relation to the wafer. A fixation and retention mechanism fixes and retains said polishing pad component to the polishing head in a detachable fashion while its polishing plane faces downward. The displacement distance of the shift mechanism ranges from the polishing position of the wafer to the exchange position of the polishing pad component, so that the polishing pad component is automatically exchanged.

An aqueous dispersion of cured silicone rubber particles includes as Components, (A) cured silicone rubber particles with an average particle size of 0.1-500 &mgr;m; (B) a surface active agent; (C) a thickening agent; (D) an antiseptic agent (i) consisting of phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin, methylparaben, and benzoic acid, or an antiseptic agent (ii) consisting of phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin, and sorbic acid; and (E) water. It has superior antiseptic properties and superior anti-mildew properties without impairing the overall stability of the aqueous dispersion.
Abstract:
A cosmetic consists of a cosmetic raw material in the form of an emulsion of silicone or organic oil containing crosslinked particles mixed with other cosmetic raw materials. Its touch on fingers and skin is good, spreading and feel during use are good, and it can also prevent unruly hair, stray hair, and tangling of hair, so hair can easily be arranged. It imparts a fresh, dry feeling without any stickiness. The cosmetic raw material consists of the silicone or organic oil emulsion containing crosslinked particles with a mean particle diameter of 0.05 to 100 &mgr;m. Crosslinking is obtained by an hydrosilylation of liquid crosslinkable compositions consisting of (A) organic compounds with at least two aliphatic unsaturated bonds per molecule, (B) silicon containing organic compounds with at least two hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms in each molecule, and (C) hydrosilylation reaction catalysts. The resulting crosslinked particles are contained in the droplets of the silicone oil or the organic oil which have mean particle sizes of 0.1 to 500 &mgr;m, and which droplets are in turn dispersed in water.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A main passage communicated to a pump passage or a tank passage by switching operation of a spool valve is provided with an operation check valve permitting communication only to a cylinder. A puppet in the operation check valve is provided with an orifice communicating the main passage with a pilot chamber of the operation check valve. The pilot chamber is communicated with the main passage through an electromagnetic on/off valve. Further, the pilot chamber in the operation check valve is communicated through a bypass passage with the main passage, and the bypass passage is provided with a manually operable opening/closing valve.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium comprising the steps of forming a carbon protective film onto a disc, the non-magnetic substrate of which is layered with a non-magnetic base film and magnetic film, using a reactant gas containing carbon atoms as a starting material, according to a plasma CVD method, wherein a mixed gas of hydrocarbon and hydrogen, in which the mixing ratio of hydrocarbon to hydrogen is in the range of 2 to 1˜1 to 100 by volume, is used as a reactant gas, during bias applying to said disc. In addition, the present invention provides a magnetic recording medium comprising a carbon protective film formed onto a disc, the non-magnetic substrate of which is layered with a non-magnetic base film and magnetic film, wherein said carbon protective film is formed according to a plasma CVD method, while applying bias.
Abstract:
A method for fabricating a carrier tape having a row of pockets, including forming carrier tape sections by injection molding so that each of the carrier tape sections has at least one pocket for accommodating an article therein, and joining the carrier tape sections in the form of a tape. The first carrier tape section is first injection molded, and the second carrier tape section is then injection molded such that one side of the first carrier tape section is in contact with one side of the second carrier tape section. A further carrier tape section is then injection molded such that one side of the second carrier tape section is in contact with a side of the further carrier tape section, whereby the carrier tape sections are successively joined together.
Abstract:
There is provided (i) a resin additive able to impart superior thermal shock resistance even in the case of resins that have absorbed moisture, (ii) a curable resin composition capable of forming a cured resin that has superior thermal shock resistance even after absorbing moisture, and (iii) a cured resin that has superior thermal shock resistance even after absorbing moisture. The resin additive consists of a powder with a mean particle size of 0.1 to 100 &mgr;m of silicone rubber. It has a moisture absorption rate of 0.20 weight percent or less after being treated for 20 hours at a temperature of about 121° C., a pressure of two atmospheres, and a relative humidity of 100 percent. The curable resin composition contains the resin additive, and the cured resin is formed by curing the curable resin composition.
