Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a control message triggering the UE to perform an iterative joint beam pair selection procedure for selecting a receive beam and a transmission beam. In some cases, the UE may additionally receive control signaling from the base station configuring the UE to generate a measurement report associated with the receive beam (e.g., that is associated with a first and second port of the UE). The UE may then receive a reference signal via the receive beam. Based on receiving the reference signal, the UE may transmit the measurement report to the base station, where the measurement report indicates at least one measurement, a first resource index corresponding to the first port of the UE, and a second resource index corresponding to the second port of the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for timing adjustments that may be used in communications between wireless devices in a wireless communications system and signaling of such timing adjustments using physical layer signaling (e.g., layer 1 (L1) signaling). A first timing adjustment may be provided by a parent node to one or more associated child nodes that corresponds to a propagation delay between the parent node and its control node or a relay node through which the parent node communicates with a core network. In some cases, the physical layer signaling used to transmit the first timing adjustment may be a reference signal transmission, a downlink control information transmission, or any combination thereof.

Abstract: Techniques are described that support techniques for directional discovery in a millimeter wave communications system. A vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications system may support beam discovery procedures that use directional beams to discover other entities, establish directional communication links with other entities, or maintaining directional communication links with other entities. The beam discovery procedure may include a sweep pattern where a transmitting entity may probe with directional beams in a plurality of beam directions. During a beam discovery procedure a transmitting entity may transmit discovery signals in a plurality of different directions and a receiving entity may listen for the discovery signals in a plurality of different directions. The sweep patterns of the transmitting entity and the receiving entity may be coordinated to increase a likelihood that the receiving entity will discover the transmitting entity.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a node in a multi-hop network may receive a configuration that indicates a first set of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) resources dedicated to PDCCH monitoring by the node, a second set of PDCCH resources dedicated to PDCCH transmission by the node, and a third set of PDCCH resources permitted to be configured for either PDCCH monitoring by the node or PDCCH transmission by the node. The node in a multi-hop network may configure a resource of the third set of PDCCH resources for one of PDCCH monitoring or neither PDCCH monitoring nor PDCCH transmission based at least in part on an initial state associated with the resource. Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may transmit a first physical random access channel (PRACH) transmission that includes a first random access (RA) preamble to a base station. The apparatus may determine whether to transmit to the base station a second PRACH transmission that is concurrent with the first PRACH transmission in time, wherein the second PRACH includes a second RA preamble. The apparatus may transmit, to the base station, the second PRACH transmission that includes the second RA preamble when the second PRACH transmission is determined to be transmitted. The first RA preamble and the second RA preamble may be different, and the first RA preamble and the second RA preamble may be concurrently transmitted in a same PRACH occasion or in different PRACH occasions that overlap in time.

Abstract: An access node may monitor for uplink and downlink resource release indications signaled by a parent access node and a child access node prior to scheduling a released resource. In some cases (e.g., when the child node is capable of half-duplex communications), the parent access node may determine to release a resource, and the child access node may determine to release a hard resource (e.g., a child node controlled resource). Receiving uplink and downlink resource release indications may enable the access node to schedule communication with the child node via a soft resource (e.g., a parent node controlled resource). Other aspects of the described techniques are directed to feedback support for a slot format indicator (SFI). The feedback from the access node may accept or reject the SFI based on an impact the SFI has on scheduling via a child link established with a child node of the access node.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for a first IAB node determining an adjustment to at least one parameter corresponding to a cell coverage of the first IAB node based at least in part on a geographic proximity of a cell relative to the first IAB node. For example, the first IAB node may determine to adjust the parameters based reference signal measurements, signal quality measurements (e.g., received from child nodes or user equipments (UEs)), etc. In another example, the first IAB node may receive an instruction from a central unit (CU) of the IAB network to adjust the at least one parameter. The first access node may transmit an indication of the adjustment to the at least one parameter. For example, the first access node may signal the adjustments to the CU, child IAB nodes, UEs and/or, other IAB nodes.
