Abstract:
A method for providing video telephony is presented. By the method, a telephone directory of a broadcast receiving apparatus can be updated by receiving a telephone directory of a connected external device is provided. A call request signal can be transmitted to an information communication terminal of the user of an external broadcast receiving apparatus when the external broadcast receiving apparatus is turned off A video telephony mode can change according to whether or not audio signals are transmitted and received when video telephony is connected. The volume of a plurality of windows can each be adjusted separately. As a result, users can utilize video telephony more conveniently.
Abstract:
A communication system, for A-Party Call Control comprising a Directory Storage from which data can be retrieved by an A-Party Device and for storing one or more directory entries for each Entity intended to be communicated with using the communication system, at least one of the one or more directory entries of each Entity associated with one or more Communication Identities, whereby an authorised A-Party Device seeking to request, establish, or maintain communication with a B-Party can obtain at least one Communication Identity for the B-Party, and a Communication Status Mechanism to enable an authorised A-Party Device to derive and confirm the current communications capabilities and one or more Effective Ring Timeout Parameters (RTPs) for at least one of said one or more B-Party Communication Identities and to determine whether there is at least one viable Effective RTP which can be employed to control an attempt to request, establish, or maintain communication with a B-Party.
Abstract:
A system is disclosed that addresses a problem that can occur when a calling party of a video call withdraws from the call, but does not actually hang up. For example, after the calling party begins working through an interactive voice and video response (IVVR) session, the party might put his phone down, step away, drop the phone inadvertently, or otherwise disengage from the call without hanging up. In this event, the terminal itself is still connected to the call, so the call resource is tied up serving the terminal, even though the calling party has temporarily disengaged from the call. The system of the illustrative embodiment detects the disengagement of the party from the call and, as a result, suspends the use of the call resource that has been allocated for the call until the party re-engages with the call.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for selecting a QoS in a portable communication system are provided. The method includes, when using a high quality video communication service, sending a request for the high quality video communication service to a destination terminal using a Circuit Service Data (CSD) channel, receiving a reply message to the high quality video communication service request and, when the reply message is an acceptance of an execution of the high quality video communication service, disconnecting the CSD channel and then connecting a Packet Service Data (PSD) channel, and providing the high quality video communication service using the PSD channel.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for processing the video telephone call failure based on the mobile communication network, which comprises the following steps: when a video telephone call initiated by a calling terminal has failed, the mobile communication network side returns a call failure message which contains a reason value of the call failure and a disconnecting signaling to said calling terminal in accordance with the reason of the call failure; after said calling terminal receives said call failure message, it queries and extracts said call failure prompt information data in accordance with said reason value and broadcasts the call failure prompt information locally. Through pre-installing the call failure prompt information in the video telephone calling terminal and sending the call failure signaling by the network side, the present invention makes the video telephone calling terminal get the reason of failure rapidly and complete the next step of concrete operation effectively when the call failed. In addition, the system resources could be well used and the waste of the system resources could be reduced because of the reason of the call failure returning duly.
Abstract:
When a line for communication of audio signals between first and second portable-telephone devices through a first portable-telephone base station, a second portable-telephone base station and a portable-telephone line network has been connected, IP addresses are exchanged. The IP addresses are required for communicating image data by first and second terminal adapters associated with the first and second portable-telephone devices respectively through an OCN. Image data is then-transmitted to the IP addresses received in the communication through the OCN. To put it concretely, an image of the user of the first portable-telephone device is transmitted by the first terminal adapter through the OCN to the IP address of-the second terminal adapter to be displayed by a second television receiver associated with the second terminal adapter. By the same token, an image of the user of the second portable-telephone device is transmitted by the second terminal adapter through the OCN to the IP address of the first terminal adapter to be displayed by a first television receiver associated with the first terminal adapter. Thus, by merely taking a portable-telephone device to a place like a store selling home electrical appliances including a television
Abstract:
This videoconference system includes plural user's user PCs, a digital camera that is connected to each user PC through a cradle and can take a moving image, a server for a videoconference, and the Internet that connects these user PCs and the server for a videoconference. Each user PC has a program for videoconference for performing a videoconference, and when detecting that the digital camera is mounted on the cradle and is connected to the user PC duplex-communicably, the user PC makes a videoconference possible by automatically booting the above-described program for videoconference, and making moving images, taken with digital cameras of both users who are mutually communication, displayed on display devices of both user PCs.

Abstract:
A pre-routing software system for treating incoming network events according to event importance prior to agent-level routing in a communication center network is disclosed. The system includes at least one network interface for receiving incoming events, a parsing engine for parsing electronic messages and documents, at least one communication interface for enabling communication with connected routing, queuing, and automated response systems, and a determination module for determining pre-treatment of received events. In preferred application, incoming network events are parsed according to a rules set and determination of pre-treatment is made for each event according to the rules set. In some embodiments, the system is used in conjunction with one or more virtual, priority-based queuing systems.
Abstract:
