Abstract: Techniques for wireless communication are described, which may include establishing a connection, by a user equipment (UE), with a first and second evolved NodeB (eNB), wherein each of the eNBs provide radio resources to the UE for respective uplink communications; receiving from the first eNB, at the UE, an indication including an allocation of uplink transmit power between the first eNB and at least the second eNB; and transmitting the uplink communications from the UE to the first and second eNBs based on the indication. The techniques may further include coordinating, by a first eNB, multi-connectivity communication for a UE with at least the first eNB and a second eNB; determining for the UE, at the eNB, an allocation of uplink transmit power between the first eNB and at least the second eNB; and transmitting an indication including the allocation of uplink transmit power allocation from the first eNB to the UE.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for link adaptation in a satellite communication system, wherein a satellite is configured to receive reverse-link (RL) communications from a user terminal (UT) via a service link and retransmit the RL communications to a satellite access network (SAN) via a feeder link. The SAN may select a reference location for the UT within a footprint of the satellite, and determine a set of operating parameters for the RL communications to achieve a target power efficiency of the satellite based on the reference location. The SAN may dynamically adjust one or more of the operating parameters, while maintaining the target power efficiency of the satellite, based at least in part on channel conditions in at least one of the service link, the feeder link, or a combination thereof. Among other advantages, the method disclosed herein may optimize RL communications based on the capabilities of the satellite.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured with a carrier aggregation (CA) configuration, which may include a large number of component carriers (CCs). Some of the CCs may be designated as basis CCs, and may have a flexible control channel configuration, while other CCs may be designated as supplemental CCs with a restricted control channel configuration. The restricted control channels may have a reduced number of decoding candidates, which may reduce the complexity and increase the likelihood of successfully decoding the control channels. For example, the restricted control channels may be limited to a subset of aggregation levels, a reduced control region, or other restrictions. In some cases, the CCs may be grouped into basis CCs and supplemental CCs based on physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) groups or based on CCs that utilize enhanced physical downlink control channels (ePDCCH).

Abstract: Techniques for acknowledging data transmissions in a multi-carrier wireless communication network are disclosed. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) receives a data transmission on at least one component carrier (CC) in a plurality of configured CCs. The UE determines acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) information for the data transmission and determines an uplink channel for sending the ACK/NACK information. When the ACK/NACK information is sent on a PUCCH, the UE may perform power control based on which CCs in the plurality of configured CCs data is received. When the ACK/NACK information is sent on a PUSCH, the UE may determine a number of resource elements based on its CC configuration.
