Abstract:
A method and system allow applying policies to service requests for information or a session, which are created by communications devices and are intended to be sent to service providers over a network. The policies govern the extent to which details about the communications devices sending the requests are released or revealed to that service provider. After amount of capabilities corresponding to the extent allowed by the polity is determined and provided in the service request, the service request is sent over the network to the service provider. Policy based disclosure of communications device capabilities information may be applied in local network embodiments, such as a home or small office network including local sever and residential gateway functions.
Abstract:
A method is specified for the handling of a telecommunications connection between at least two subscribers, wherein the telecommunications connection has a signalling Channel for transmission of a signalling stream and a payload Channel for the transmission of a payload stream, wherein frequency-coded Signals are transmitted in the payload stream, wherein at least one subscriber among the at least two subscribers is assigned to a network which has a switching device and a signal processing device provided separately from the switching device, and wherein the frequency-coded Signals are recognised in the signal processing device and are transmitted independently of the payload stream to the switching device. The invention also relates to a telecommunications arrangement, a switching device and a network coupling device.
Abstract:
A communication system for providing network access over a shared communication link is disclosed. The communication system includes a user access point, a network access point and a communications link. The user access point is coupled to one or more user terminals that access a remote network. The network access point is coupled to the remote network. The communications link couples the user access point and the network access point. The communications link is at least partially controlled by the network access point, which monitors information passed between the remote network and the user access point to create an estimate of future usage of the communications link by the user access point based on the information. The network access point allocates communications link resources for the user access point based on the estimate.
Abstract:
The transferring unit transfers a message received from a PC or a network to a designated destination address. The judging unit judges whether an authentication message including the identification information of the user and a grant message indicating that the user is authenticated are transferred. The identification information acquiring unit acquires the identification information from the transferred authentication message. The SIP message processing unit creates a registration message that includes the address information of the user having the acquired identification information and transmits the created registration message to the SIP server when the grant message is transferred.
Abstract:
An IP multimedia gateway (IMG) may be operable to identify a client device for which the IMG may not currently possess a capability to provide a particular service. The IMG may notify the client device that the IMG may not currently possess the capability to provide the particular service. The client device may be allowed to download and/or acquire information associated with the particular service. The client device may be allowed to receive the particular service based on the downloaded and/or acquired information. The client device may be local to the IMG and/or located remotely with respect to the IMG. The client device may be allowed to download stored content for the particular service when the IMG does not currently have an available channel or a channel of sufficient available bandwidth. The client device may be allowed to download an application to enable receiving of the particular service.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and communication nodes according to exemplary embodiments provide for an IMS node to replicate call content for lawful call interception in packet cable networks. A CSCF node sends a command to an SBC node to perform call content replication for an identified call to be intercepted. The SBC node forwards the replicated call content to a delivery function, which in turn forwards the replicated call content to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
Abstract:
A gateway apparatus that interconnects a mobile circuit switched network and a mobile IMS network to implement the video phone includes a conversion unit. The conversion unit demultiplexes a multiplexed bit stream signal output from a mobile terminal connected to the mobile circuit switched network to take out one or more of a control signal, a compression-encoded speech signal, and a compression-encoded video signal. The conversion unit converts the control signal into one or more of a MEGACO signal, a SIP signal and a SDP signal, while converting the speech signal and the video signal, if necessary. The conversion unit also packetizes the speech signal and the video signal to transmit resulting packets to the IMS network.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the claimed subject matter provide a method and apparatus for providing multicast/broadcast information to obstructed user equipment. Some embodiments of the apparatus include a gateway configured for communicative coupling to an antenna. The gateway is configurable to establish a first broadcast/multicast session for receiving at least one broadcast or multicast service associated with user equipment and establish a second session for providing information received in the first broadcast/multicast session to the user equipment. Some embodiments include user equipment are configurable to provide a request to receive a broadcast service or a multicast service from a gateway that receives the broadcast or multicast service(s) via a first broadcast/multicast session. Some embodiments of the user equipment are also configurable to establish a second session with the gateway for receiving the broadcast or multicast service(s).
Abstract:
A digital residential entertainment system uses a data switch with dedicated ports. Each one of the dedicated ports may receive a different input or route a different output. As different content items are stored within the digital residential entertainment system, each one of the different content items is associated to a different row in a data table. Each different row thus stores data fields that differentiate one content item from another content item.
Abstract:
A local network system includes a vehicle having one or more terminals operable to act as a client on the local network and a gateway device operable to manage communications between the one or more terminals and an external network. The gateway device includes a memory configured to store a set of instructions; a processor configured to execute the set of instructions; a first communications module in communication with the external network; a second communications module for providing communication between the gateway device and at least one terminal; and a third communications module for providing communication between the gateway device and at least one other terminal.
