    Abstract: Provided is a communication control apparatus for controlling communication of a flying body for forming a cell by irradiating a beam toward the ground to provide wireless communication service for a user terminal in the cell. The communication control apparatus comprises: a determination unit for determining a user terminal of an offload target to be offloaded and a cell of an offload destination, based on a neighbor cell list of the cell of the flying body, a frequency priority list in which priorities are each associated with each of a plurality of frequencies, a radio resource usage rate of each of the plurality of user terminals that exists in the cell of the flying body, and an MCS of each of the plurality of user terminals; and a control unit for causing the user terminal of the offload target to be handed over to the cell of the offload destination.

    Abstract: A satellite system may have a constellation of communications satellites that provides services to users with electronic devices such as portable electronic devices and home and office equipment. A network operations center may use gateways to communicate with the satellite constellation. The satellite constellation may include sets of satellites with different orbits such as circular orbits with different inclinations, sets of satellites with elliptic orbits, sets of satellites with circular orbits of different altitudes including low earth orbits, medium earth orbits, and/or geosynchronous orbits, and/or sets of satellites with other orbits. The satellite orbits of the satellites in the satellite constellation may be selected to provide coverage to desired user population concentrations at different locations on the earth without using an excessive number of satellites.

    Abstract: A system, method, and device to enable communication between a first and second satellite station and a controller of a mobile platform. The controller includes a processor, a first modem facilitating communication with the first satellite station via a first frequency over a first communication link, and a map of the one or more networks of satellite stations including the second satellite station. The controller utilizes the map of the one or more networks of satellite stations to determine the second satellite station for communicating with the controller. A second modem is coupled to the controller and facilitates communication with the second satellite station via a second frequency over a second communication link, wherein the controller is configured to calculate a time to handoff communication with the mobile communicator from the first communication link to the second communication link.

    Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate to a segmented receiver for a wireless communication system. The segmented receiver includes a first receiver segment and a second receiver segment configured to receive respective radio frequency signals. The radio frequency signals can be orthogonally polarized. Branch circuits in each receiver segment can provide a radio frequency signal to different mixers. The different mixers can be included in different receiver segments and receive local oscillator signals from independent local oscillators. Each receiver segment can process a different bandwidth of the radio frequency signal. Two different bandwidths of the radio frequency signal can be processed concurrently by different receiver segments.

    Abstract: A relief ship includes: a hull; an on-board relay station mounted on the hull to create a first wireless communication area on and/or around the hull; at least one mover mounted on the hull and movable to a place away from the hull; and a mobile relay station mounted on the mover.
