    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for configuring a user device to access a communicating network is provided. A user device may execute an application configured to support voice communications when the user device is located within a plurality of vehicles. The user device may determine, via the application, that the user device is in a vehicle of the plurality of vehicles. The use device may obtain, via the application and from a computing system associated with the vehicle, a list of communication networks that support voice bearers available based upon a current state of the vehicle. The user device may select, via the application, a preferred communication network from the list of communication networks based on one or more predetermined characteristics of the communication networks. The user device may configure, via the application, the user device with credentials to access the preferred communication network. The user device may transmit, to the computing system associated with the vehicle, a registration message that includes the credentials for the preferred communication network.

    Abstract: Example methods and systems for adapting fourth generation (4G) and/or fifth generation (5G) cellular downlink channels in the presence of non-stationary interference are disclosed. An example method, implemented by one or more processors of a cellular base station, includes: receiving, from a user equipment (UE) radio, channel state information (CSI) for a cellular downlink channel between the cellular base station and the UE; determining a signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) offset based upon the CSI, and a target block error rate (BLER); determining a variance of the SINR offset that represents one or more characteristics of the non-stationary interference; and determining the target BLER based upon the variance of the SINR offset such that the cellular downlink channel adapts to the presence of the non-stationary interference.

    Abstract: An antenna installation assistant application provides one or more GUIs representing ports of a vehicle-mountable antenna, as well as one or more on-board modems and/or other network hardware. The assistant application may determine, and indicate to a user of the assistant application, whether ports of the antenna are connected to ports of the modem (or other hardware), and more specifically, whether each connection is correct for the hardware. The assistant application thus may guide an installer through installation of one or more antenna in a manner that is responsive to actions taken by the installer, including correct or incorrect wired connections between hardware for a vehicle-based communications network.

    Abstract: A method of communicating with multiple satellites includes allocating, based on one or more conditions corresponding to a plurality of spatial channels associated with multiple satellites, each subset of a plurality of subsets of antenna resources of a phased array antenna to a respective different satellite included in the multiple satellites. The method also includes commanding one or more transceivers to establish simultaneous communicative connections to the different satellites via the allocated subsets of antenna resources, and re-allocating, based on a detected change to at least one of the one or more conditions, at least one antenna resource to a respective another different satellite.     Abstract: A method and system facilitate communication between a constellation of satellites and a mobile platform-mounted mobile communicator. The method and system may include the use of a first antenna suited for operation using a first frequency band in a first geographic region and a second antenna suited for operation using either the first or a second frequency band in a second geographic region. The method and system may use a controller to determine which antenna to activate based on one or more of a geographic indicator or a signal indicator. The system used by the method to facilitate the communication may have one or more enclosures over the antennas and controller for mounting to a mobile platform.

    Abstract: An example system includes an in-vehicle content-delivery system (CDS) on a vehicle storing a library of content, and a content server including a content portal. The content portal may receive a request for a customized content manifest from the CDS, identify the vehicle, identify a customized content manifest, and provide the customized content manifest to the CDS. The customized content manifest may include a list of content customized for an itinerary and/or the vehicle, and wherein the customized content manifest differs from another content manifest customized for a different itinerary and/or a different vehicle. The CDS may remove first content from the library of content when the first content is not included in the list of content, and load second content to the library of content when the second content is included in the list of content and not already present in the library of content.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to optimize bandwidth usage associated with a local network. As part of the bandwidth optimization techniques, an authentication entity may receive an indication of an access profile selected by a user of an electronic device. The authentication entity may assign the access profile to the electronic device. Accordingly, when the electronic device transmits data, a network regulation entity may process the traffic in accordance with the access profile. To this end, the network regulation entity may correspond communication sessions within the traffic to an application. The network regulation entity may then query the access profile to determine a priority for each application. When the traffic exceeds a threshold byte volume, the network regulation entity may queue lower priority communication sessions. By processing the traffic based upon a user-indicated access profile, compliance with network neutrality principles may be maintained.
