Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a memory and a processor. The memory is to store visual data associated with a visual representation captured by one or more sensors. The processor is to: obtain the visual data associated with the visual representation captured by the one or more sensors, wherein the visual data comprises uncompressed visual data or compressed visual data; process the visual data using a convolutional neural network (CNN), wherein the CNN comprises a plurality of layers, wherein the plurality of layers comprises a plurality of filters, and wherein the plurality of filters comprises one or more pixel-domain filters to perform processing associated with uncompressed data and one or more compressed-domain filters to perform processing associated with compressed data; and classify the visual data based on an output of the CNN.

Abstract: A computing system receives, from a client device, image data describing an image captured by an optical sensor of the client device. The computing system compares the image to a set of reference images that include associated metadata describing a real-world feature depicted by the respective reference image. The computing system determines, based on the comparison, a subset of reference images that are similar to the image, and then determines, based on associated metadata of the subset of reference images, that the image captured by the optical sensor of the client device depicts a first real-world feature. The computing system selects a subset of media overlays related to the first real-world feature based on metadata associated with each media overlay that describes the respective media overlay. The computing system transmits the subset of media overlays to the client device.

Abstract: An analytical recognition system is includes a video camera configured to capture video data of a subject and an antenna configured to capture mobile communication device data relating to a mobile communication device of the subject. The system further includes a data analytics module configured to: analyze the video data to determine at least one of a physical attribute or a movement attribute of the subject and generate; generate a first certainty match value based on the at least one of the physical attribute or the movement attribute of the subject; and perform a facial recognition analysis of the subject to obtain facial recognition data. The data analytics module is further configured to generate a second certainty match value based on the facial recognition data; generate a third certainty match value based on the mobile communication device data; and generate a combined certainty match value based on the first certainty match value, the second certainty match value, and the third certainty match value.

Abstract: A method and a device for setting a value of an object property in a sequence of metadata frames corresponding to a sequence of video frames is provided. An object is detected in a plurality of video frames. For a temporally first video frame a first value of an object property is determined and the object property is set to have the first value in a metadata frame corresponding to the first video frame. For each subsequent video frame, a subsequent value of the object property is determined and a deviation is calculated with respect to a value of the object property that was last set in a metadata frame. If the deviation exceeds a non-zero threshold, the object property is set to have the subsequent value in a metadata frame corresponding to the subsequent video frame. Otherwise no value of the object property is set in that metadata frame.

Abstract: A method for enhancing user liveness detection is provided that includes receiving image data of a user that includes items of metadata. Moreover, the method includes comparing each item of metadata associated with the received image data against a corresponding item of metadata associated with record image data of the user, and determining whether each item of metadata associated with the received image data matches the corresponding item of metadata. In response to determining at least one item of metadata associated with the received image data does not match the corresponding item of metadata, the method deems the received image data to be genuine and from a live person. In response to determining all items of metadata associated with the received image match the corresponding item of metadata, the method deems the received image data to be fraudulent and not from a living person.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for including supplemental content with segments based on the complexity of the segment. This may be accomplished by a system receiving complexity information related to a media asset and user information related to a viewer to determine if one or more segments of the media asset is complex for the user. If the system receives a trick play command, from the user, during a segment categorized as complex, the system can use the complexity information and user information to generate supplemental content, facilitating better user understanding of the complex segment.
