Further object of the invention is providing a molded article comprising a hardly soluble or insoluble substances using the solution of a hardly soluble or insoluble substances. A method for improving affinity of a substance surface for a solvent, comprising: bringing the substance surface into contact with water-soluble xylan and the solvent, wherein the substance is hardly soluble or insoluble in the solvent in the absence of the water-soluble xylan. A solution comprising an added water-soluble xylan, a substance, and a solvent, wherein the substance is hardly soluble or insoluble in the solvent in the absence of the water-soluble xylan. A molded article comprising the added water-soluble xylan and the hardly soluble substance.

    摘要: A method of producing regenerated cellulose and hemicellulose from a fibre pulp which is prepared by using chemical cooking. Hemicellulose and, correspondingly, cellulose is separated from the pulp, in order to form separate fractions, by dissolving them in such a solvent or an aqueous solution of it, from which they are precipitated by adding water, after which the regenerated hemicellulose and cellulose can be recovered. Hemicellulose-containing pulp, which for example is used as raw material of paper, can be efficiently fractionated into polymeric hemicellulose-rich fractions and very pure cellulose fractions, such as regenerated cellulose fibre, various cellulose particles or cellulose films.

    摘要: This invention provides processes to convert biomass into energy-dense biomass for combustion, alone or in combination with another solid fuel. Some embodiments provide processes for producing energy-dense biomass from cellulosic biomass, comprising extracting the feedstock with steam and/or hot water to produce an extract liquor containing hemicellulosic oligomers, dissolved lignin, and cellulose-rich solids; separating the extract liquor, to produce dewatered cellulose-rich solids; hydrolyzing the dewatered cellulose-rich solids, thereby removing a portion of the cellulose, to produce intermediate solids (with higher energy density) and a hydrolysate; drying the intermediate solids to produce energy-dense biomass; and optionally recovering fermentable sugars from the hydrolysate. The energy-dense biomass may be pelletized into biomass pellets, which may have a similar energy density as torrefied pellets from wood. The hemicellulosic oligomers may be further hydrolyzed to produce additional fermentable sugars. The fermentable sugars may be fermented to ethanol or another product.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method for the extraction and isolation of soluble arabinoxylan products from cereal grain. Preferably, such soluble arabinoxylan product is any one of soluble arabinoxylan, arabinoxylan-oligosaccharides, xylose, arabinose, ferulic acid and mixtures thereof. Said method comprises partial debranning of whole cereal grains to obtain partially debranned cereal grains followed by roller milling of said partially debranned cereal grains to obtain cereal bran. The method further comprises the mashing of at least part of said cereal bran in water optionally involving the treatment of the mash with any one of an enzyme preparation, an acid, a base, a peroxide or combinations thereof, either simultaneously or sequentially, to solubilize and optionally depolymerize a fraction of the arabinoxylan comprised in said cereal bran. Preferably, said treatment is done with an enzyme preparation containing an endoxylanase. The method further comprises the separation from said mash of a solubilized fraction, which comprises at least part of the solubilized soluble arabinoxylan products.
