摘要: A membrane-based separation device comprises multiple interconnected flat sheets of membrane bonded to a flexible film. The bonded films are bonded in a way to create an accordion or zig-zag shape. In certain embodiments, the first or upstream layer is affixed to a suitable housing, and the last or most downstream layer is also affixed to the suitable housing. The housing may contain an inlet port for the introduction of sample, and an outlet port for the removal of filtered sample. Flow through the segments is in parallel. Since the membranes are not folded or pleated, higher performance membranes (e.g., polysulfone based membranes with some degree of asymmetry) than those usable in pleated or folded systems can be used.

摘要: A baffle tank is disclosed which is designed to filter a fluid along with a method of forming the baffle tank. The baffle tank has a bottom wall joined to at least one sidewall to form an enclosure having a first chamber in fluid communication with a second chamber. The first chamber has a top wall with an enlarged opening formed therein. The first chamber also has an inlet for receiving incoming fluid. The second chamber has a top wall with an enlarged opening formed therein. The second chamber also has an outlet through which fluid can be discharged. A first baffle is formed by at least a portion of the sidewall of the first chamber. The first baffle is joined to at least a portion of the sidewall of the second chamber. The first baffle extends downward from the top walls of the first and second chambers and has a lower end positioned above the bottom wall. A second baffle is formed in the second chamber and extends upward from the bottom wall and has an upper end positioned below the top wall of the second chamber. The lower end of the first baffle is located closer to the bottom wall than is the upper end of the second baffle.

摘要: A system for treating and recycling rainwater, including at least three stages constructed wetlands disposed along a sloped surface. Each stage constructed wetland includes a coarse gravel layer, a fine gravel layer, an improved soil layer, and wetland plants from bottom to top. Slopes are disposed at two sides of the upper part of each constructed wetland and are different in heights. An intermediate overflow pipe is disposed at the top of the slope between every two adjacent constructed wetlands. A last overflow pipe communicates with a municipal rainwater pipe. The coarse gravel layers of every two adjacent constructed wetlands are connected by connecting pipes. A perforated water collecting pipe is disposed at front ends of the connecting pipes. A water outlet pipe is disposed in the bottom of the coarse gravel layer of a last stage constructed wetland and is connected to a clean water reservoir.

摘要: A system and a method comprise an upstream chamber is configured to receive a variable input flow of a wastewater mixture having a maximum input flow rate. A downstream chamber is adjacent to the upstream chamber. An effluent baffle wall separates the downstream chamber from the upstream chamber. An effluent flow port is located in the effluent baffle wall. The effluent flow port comprises a first orifice configured to produce a first modulated flow of the wastewater mixture from the upstream chamber to the downstream chamber, and a second orifice being positioned above the first orifice. The second orifice is configured to produce a second modulated flow having a second flow rate, wherein a combined flow rate including the first and second flow rates is less than the maximum input flow rate.
