摘要: Implantable devices and/or sensors can be wirelessly powered by controlling and propapting electromagnetic waves in a patient's tissue. Such implantable devices/sensors can be implanted at target locations in a patient, to stimulate areas such as the heart, brain, spinal cord, or muscle tissue, and/or to sense biological physiological, chemical attributes of the blood, tissue, and other patient parameters. The propagating electromagnetic waves can be generated with sub-wavelength structures configured to manipulate evanescent fields outside of tissue to generate the propagating waves inside the tissue. Methods of use are also described.

摘要: A wireless sensor device capable of constant operation without replacement of batteries. The wireless sensor device is equipped with a rechargeable battery and the battery is recharged wirelessly. Radio waves received at an antenna circuit are converted into electrical energy and stored in the battery. A sensor circuit operates with the electrical energy stored in the battery, and acquires information. Then, a signal containing the information acquired is converted into radio waves at the antenna circuit, whereby the information can be read out wirelessly.

摘要: Systems are provided for a wireless system-on-chip (SoC) with integrated antenna, power harvesting, and biosensors. An illustrative SoC can have a dimension of 200 μm×200 μm×100 μm to allow painless injection. Such small device size is enabled by: a 13 μm×20 μm 1 nA current reference, optical clock recovery, low voltage inverting dc-dc to enable use of higher quantum efficiency diodes, on-chip resonant antenna, and an array-scanning reader.

摘要: A method for delivering energy as a function of degree coupling may utilize an external unit configured for location external to a body of a subject and at least one processor associated with the implant unit and configured for electrical communication with a power source. The method may determine a degree of coupling between the primary antenna and a secondary antenna associated with the implant unit, and regulate delivery of power to the implant unit based on the degree of coupling between the primary antenna and the secondary antenna.

摘要: A biosensor system including a biosensor patch and an interrogation device. The biosensor patch includes an open circuit self-resonating pattern for passively generating a response signal when excited by an interrogation signal. The response signal may have a frequency amplitude, phase, and bandwidth that may change according to an electro-magnetic response of a biological component of a user. The interrogation device transmits an interrogation signal to the biosensor patch and receives the response signal in return. The interrogation device may run an application for decoding and analyzing the response signal to generate data corresponding to the health of the biological component.

摘要: Implantable systems are described that include a stimulation device positionable in vivo and configured to communicatively couple to electrodes configured to stimulate or block body tissue and an auxiliary device positionable in vivo and including one or more coils configured to wirelessly couple, in vivo, to the stimulation device and to wirelessly couple to an ex vivo device. The auxiliary device may include a coil driver and a power source controlled by a processor and memory for storing data instructions for the coil driver and for storing data received from the stimulation device. The auxiliary device may also include a radio transceiver and an antenna. The stimulation device may include a housing, a coil, a power source and an integrated circuit for controlling the electrodes. The stimulation device may be coupled to a cuff via a lead and physically coupled to the auxiliary device.

摘要: An intraocular pressure sensor is presented that achieve very low power consumption. The intraocular pressure sensor takes the form of an implantable assembly configured to be implanted in an eye of a subject. Specifically, the implantable assembly is comprised of a capsular tension ring attached to a flexible printed circuit board. The flexible printed circuit board includes a cutout that is sized to encircle the pupil of the eye and is C shaped. One or more electrical components are also mounted onto the flexible printed circuit board. One such component is a voltage reference generator that is implemented by a circuit which provides inherently low process variation and low power consumption.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a thermometer-equipped pacifier capable of self-charging using a piezoelectric element. The pacifier includes a nipple part, a case, a temperature sensor unit, a piezoelectric element unit, a charging unit, a display unit, and a control unit. The nipple part is made of a flexible elastic material, and has an internal space. The case is coupled to the lower portion of the nipple part. The temperature sensor unit is disposed inside the nipple part, and detects body temperature. The piezoelectric element unit is disposed inside the nipple part, and generates electricity in response to external pressure. The charging unit is contained in the case, and charges and stores the electricity. The display unit is attached onto the case, and displays the body temperature. The control unit is contained in the case, and performs control so that power can operate the temperature sensor unit and the display unit.
