Abstract:
The invention describes a sheet feed device having a sheet tray having a bottom plate defining a first portion of a storing portion that receives sheets therein, a feed roller, a separation plate, and a recessed portion formed in the separation surface. The feed roller moves to contact a sheet of the sheets, and to feed the sheet. The separation plate is disposed at a downstream end of the sheet tray and extends in a width direction. The separation plate has a separation surface which is inclined with respect to the bottom plate of the sheet tray, and defines at least a second portion of the storing portion. The recessed portion is formed in the separation surface and extends toward a downstream end of the separation surface. The separation plate is configured to separate the sheet from the sheets as the feed roller feeds the sheet.
Abstract:
A sheet feeding device includes an inner guide member and an outer guide member that define a sheet feeding path therebetween. The sheet feeding device also includes an engaging member positioned adjacent to one of the inner guide member and the outer guide member, and a receiving portion positioned at the other one of the inner guide member and the outer guide member. The engaging member moves between an engaged position to engage the receiving portion and a disengaged position to disengage from the receiving portion. The inner guide member is selectively connected to the outer guide member via the engaging member and the receiving portion. When the engaging member contacts the sheet in the sheet feeding path, the engaging member is in the disengaged position, and when the engaging member is separated from the sheet in the sheet feeding path, the engaging member is in the engaged position.
Abstract:
An image recording apparatus, including a sheet-supply tray device which accommodates and holds a plurality of recording sheets and which supplies the recording sheets, one by one, in a sheet-supply direction; and an image recording device which records an image on each of the recording sheets supplied from the sheet-supply tray device. The sheet-supply tray device includes a first tray which accommodates and holds at least one first sheet of the plurality of recording sheets; a second tray which accommodates and holds at least one second sheet of the plurality of recording sheets, and which selectively takes a stacked posture thereof in which the second tray is stacked on the first tray, and an opening posture thereof in which at least a portion of the second tray opens at least a portion of the first tray; and a supporting device which supports at least a portion of the second tray while permitting the second tray to selectively take the stacked posture thereof and the opening posture thereof such that the at least one second sheet held by the second tray is not plastically deformed.
Abstract:
A supply tray includes a first tray configured to receive a stack of recording medium thereon, and a second tray configured to receive at least one recording medium thereon, which is different in size or type, or both, from the stack of recording medium received on the first tray. The second tray is disposed in an upper portion of the first tray and is slidable within a predetermined direction. The supply tray further includes a locking mechanism configured to place and to fix the second tray in position with respect to the first tray.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus including: a print part; a feeding part; a first sheet feeding tray; and a second sheet feeding tray. The first sheet feeding tray stores a sheet of a first size therein, the feeding part feeding the sheet of the first size from the first sheet feeding tray to the print part in a sheet feeding direction. The second sheet feeding tray is mounted on the first sheet feeding tray and stores a sheet of a second size smaller than the first size therein, the feeding part feeding the sheet of the second size from the second sheet feeding tray to the print part in the sheet feeding direction, the second sheet feeding tray receiving a sheet printed by the print part and discharged in a direction opposite to the sheet feeding direction. The second sheet feeding tray has a pair of side guides which are provided in parallel to the sheet feeding direction and which contact against side ends of the sheet of the second side to guide the sheet of the second side to the print part. At least one of the pair of side guides is provided with a plate part which extends from an upper edge of the side guide to the other side guide and which receives the printed sheet thereon. The plate part has a backward-feed prevention part which prevents the printed sheet from being fed to the print part again.
Abstract:
A sheet feed device includes a first sheet cassette including an accommodating portion configured to accommodate a first plurality of sheets, and a second sheet cassette disposed on the first sheet cassette and including a holding portion configured to hold a second plurality of sheets, in which one or more characteristics of the first plurality of sheets is different than one or more characteristics of the second plurality of sheets. The sheet feed device also includes a sheet feeder including a sheet feed roller, and the sheet feed device is configured to selectively feed the first plurality of sheets and the second plurality of sheets in a sheet feed direction toward a recording unit. Moreover, the sheet feed device includes a sheet separator, configured to separate, one by one, the sheets fed by the sheet feeder. Specifically, the second sheet cassette is configured to move above the accommodating portion of the first sheet cassette and with respect to the sheet feeder, and the sheet feed roller is configured to contact the second plurality of sheets on the holding portion that is inclined so as to increase in height in a direction toward the sheet separator.
Abstract:
A sheet separation member for use in a sheet supply device including a sheet feed roller that feeds stacked sheets. The sheet separation member includes a body portion including a plurality of protrusion portions that engages with leading edges of the stacked sheets in a sheet feeding direction, and a plurality of arm portions that supports the protrusion portions in positions where the protrusion portions are engaged with the leading edges of the sheets, and a plurality of plate spring portions integrally formed with the body portion to support the body portion in a predetermined region of the sheet supply device.
Abstract:
A sheet feed device has a tray with holding surface for holding sheets, a feed unit for feeding sheets from the tray, and a separation plate. The separation plate has an inclined surface and two or more separation portions that separate a sheet from the sheets held in the tray. At least one of the separation portions projects a first distance from the inclined surface. The separation plate also has a projection positioned on the inclined surface that projects a second distance from the inclined surface. The second distance is greater than the first distance. A first of the separation portions is positioned upstream of the particular projection in the sheet feed direction, and a second of the separation portions positioned downstream of the particular projection in the sheet feed direction.
Abstract:
A sheet guide apparatus including a sheet tray in which a sheet is placed and a side guide having an abutting portion that abuts the sheet placed in the sheet tray. The sheet tray includes a groove formed along a direction perpendicular to an abutting surface of the abutting portion against the sheet. The side guide includes a sliding portion having slidable portions slidable on side walls of the groove, and is capable of moving along a groove direction when the sliding portion is slid on the side walls. The groove includes at least one first groove area and at least one second groove area. The second groove area has a groove width smaller than a groove width of the first groove area and allows the slidable portions of the sliding portion to be slid in the second groove area.
