    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for signaling Reduced Capability (RedCap) wireless communication device (WCD) capability during inter-Radio Access Technology (RAT) handover. In one embodiment, a method performed by a target network node for inter-RAT handover of a WCD from a source network node of a first RAT to the target network node of a second RAT comprises receiving, at the target network node, a message in association with preparation or execution of a handover of a WCD from the source network node of the first RAT to the target network node of the second RAT, the message comprising information about one or more capabilities of the WCD. The method further comprises determining that the WCD is a RedCap WCD based on the information about the one or more capabilities of the WCD and sending an indication that the WCD is a RedCap WCD to a core network node.

    Abstract: Methods are provided to operate an SMF node. A request to create a session for a wireless device is received. A communication establishment request is transmitted to an NEF node responsive to receiving the request to create the session for the wireless device, wherein the communication establishment request includes UPF node information for a tunnel between a UPF node and the NEF node to be used for the session for the wireless device. A communication establishment response is received from the NEF node, wherein the communication establishment response includes NEF node information for the tunnel between the UPF node and the NEF node to be used for the session for the wireless device. A tunnel information update is transmitted to the UPF node after receiving the communication establishment response, wherein the tunnel information update includes the NEF node information for the tunnel between the UPF node and the NEF node.

    Abstract: A method for a target mobility management entity and a target mobility management entity for executing the method in a core network to communicate network function (NF) utilization information with a source mobility management entity during a change of mobility management entity are disclosed. The method comprises: receiving at least one old NF identifier (ID) from the source mobility management entity that corresponds to an old NF entity serving a user equipment (UE); determining to either use the at least one old NF ID or to use at least one new NF ID that corresponds to a new NF entity of a same NF type as the old NF entity; and communicating, to the source mobility management entity, information that indicates to the source mobility management entity whether the target mobility management entity uses the at least one old NF ID or uses the at least one new NF ID.

    Abstract: The invention relates to mobility management nodes and methods of the mobility management nodes of enabling delivery of a Mobile Terminating, (MT) Short Message (SM) to a mobile terminal.
    In a first aspect of the invention, a method of a mobility management node is provided for enabling delivery of a Mobile Terminating, (MT) Short Message (SM) to a mobile terminal which currently is in extended idle mode discontinuous reception, eDRX, mode. The method comprises receiving an indication from a Short Message Service Gateway Mobile Switching Centre (SMS-GMSC) that the SM is to be delivered, receiving a notification that the mobile terminal has exited an extended idle Discontinuous Reception (eDRX) mode before a paging occasion has occurred, and submitting, in response to the notification, a message indicating to the SMS-GMSC that the mobile terminal is available for delivery of the SM.
