摘要: Laminated panels are made in a process whereby a starting foam formulation is processed through a mixhead, passed through a branched distribution system and dispensed through multiple outlets of the distribution system to produce a foam layer on a bottom facing layer. The foam layer is monitored for the presence of surface bubbles. When surface bubbles are observed, the backpressure in the mixhead is increased to reduce or eliminate the surface bubbles. An apparatus for performing the process includes an adjustment means at or upstream of a first branch point in the distribution system to increase or decrease the backpressure in the mixhead.

摘要: A film structure including: (a) at least one functionalized film layer, wherein the at least one film layer comprises a polar-reactive group polyolefin layer used as an internal layer in the film structure; and (b) a lamination adhesive composition present on, and in contact with, a least a portion of a surface of the internal layer; wherein the green tack value of the adhesive composition is greater than 0.772 Newtons/centimeter; a laminate including the above film structure bonded to a substrate layer; a process for producing the film structure; a process for producing the laminate; and a laminated article made from the above laminate.

摘要: A carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membrane may advantageously be made by pyrolyzing a membrane precursor composition comprised of a carbon forming polymer (e.g., polyimide) blended with a polyvinylidene chloride copolymer (PVDC), the polyvinylidene chloride copolymer being the reaction product of at least 60% to 97% by weight of vinylidene chloride and at least one other comonomer and the carbon forming polymer to polyvinylidene chloride copolymer has a weight ratio of greater than 1 to 99. The membrane precursor composition may be formed by dissolving the carbon forming polymer and PVDC in a solvent to form a dope solution. The dope solution may be shaped, for example, into an asymmetric hollow fiber. The asymmetric hollow fiber may be heated to a temperature to dehydrochorinate the PVDC and then subsequently heated in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to carbonize the polymers of the shaped membrane to form the CMS membrane.

摘要: Provided are non-breathable films including specific polymer blends, and methods for making such films. The films comprise an anhydride and/or carboxylic acid functionalized ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer, a linear low density polyethylene, and an inorganic filler. The method of manufacturing the film comprises extruding an anhydride and/or carboxylic acid functionalized ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer, a linear low density polyethylene, and an inorganic filler to form the film and stretching the film. The films according to embodiments disclosed herein can exhibit low WVTR values and improved modulus while also incorporating significant amounts of inorganic filler at low gauges.

摘要: Provides a silicon containing polyisocyanate polyaddition (PIPA) polyether polyol dispersion at readily processible viscosity for use in making flexible polyurethane foams having inherent flame retardant properties that comprises polyether polyol carrier and from 10 to 25 wt. %, based on total weight of dispersion, of particles of a silicon containing (PIPA) polyether polyol having a particle size diameter wherein 90%, by volume, of the particles in dispersion have maximum PSD of from 0.1 to 3 m and that, further, contain two or more aromatic carbamate groups. Dispersion may further comprise water or blowing agent, i) one or more catalysts, and f) one or more polyisocyanates in a foam forming mixture. In addition, provides methods for making the silicon containing PIPA polyether polyol dispersion comprising forming and mixing under shear a base polyol dispersion and delaying the addition of g) one or more polyisocyantes and h) a catalyst while mixing under shear.
