Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure relate to a method of operating a user equipment for wireless communication with a network. In some aspects, the UE establishes a connection to a network and obtains a control plane message from the network. The control plane message may include one or more types of policy information if a size of the one or more types of policy information is less than or equal to a maximum payload size of the control plane message, or information indicating at least a network location from where the one or more types of policy information may be obtained by the UE over a user plane if the size of the one or more types of policy information is greater than the maximum payload size of the control plane message, or a combination thereof. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus relating to local area data network connectivity. In certain aspects, a method for use by a network device includes determining a set of available local area data networks (LADNs) for a user equipment (UE) based on a subscription of the UE to a set of data network names (DNNs) corresponding to the set of available LADNs and sending the UE information indicative of the set of available LADNs and a location of availability corresponding to each of the LADNs of the set of available LADNs.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a solution to this problem by enabling the communications network to verify the relationship of the first UE and the second UE based on stored pairing information that is used to verify that the first UE is allowed to make a connection to the communications network. The apparatus transmits a pairing request from a first UE to a second UE. In an aspect, the pairing request is intended for a communication network. Further, the apparatus receives a pairing acknowledgement. In an aspect, the pairing acknowledgement verifies the pairing of the first UE and the second UE. In addition, the apparatus connects to the communication network via the second UE once the first UE pairs with the second UE.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides a mechanism where a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a neighbor UE of the UE's neighbor UE by utilizing the UE's neighbor UE as a relay for the communication between the UE and the neighbor UE of the UE's neighbor UE. In an aspect, the first UE receives a discovery message from a second UE, the discovery message including information about 1-hop neighbor UEs of the second UE. The first UE determines to communicate with a third UE based on the discovery message, the third UE being one of the 1-hop neighbor UEs of the second UE. The first UE requests the second UE to operate as a relay for communication between the first UE and the third UE. The first UE communicates with the third UE through the second UE.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) may be outside of the coverage area of a base station or other access point, which may impede access by the UE of a core network, server, or the like. Therefore, a UE may establish a relay connection to access resources when the UE is outside of a coverage area provided by a base station or access point. In aspects, an apparatus may be configured to transmit, to a set of relay UEs, a first message associated with establishment of a relay connection. The apparatus may be further configured to receive a set of messages from the set of relay UEs. The apparatus may be further configured to establish the relay connection with a first relay UE of the set of relay UEs based on a message of the set of messages from the first relay UE.
Abstract:
An improved manner of transmitting and receiving messages in V2X/V2V/D2D is presented in which a transmitting device determines a geographic location of the mobile transmitting device and generates a message for a service group having a group ID associated with the service group, the message comprising a first indication of a geographic area associated with the message, the geographic area based at least in part on the geographic location of the transmitting device. Then, the apparatus transmits the message to the service group, e.g., via V2X/V2V/D2D communication. A receiving device then determines its geographic location and determines whether to send a feedback for the message based on the first indication of the geographic area associated with the message and the geographic location of the receiving device.
Abstract:
Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a target user equipment (UE) receives, from an initiator UE, a first groupcast message for a sidelink group of a plurality of UEs, including the target UE and the initiator UE, wherein the first groupcast message includes a groupcast destination identifier that indicates that the first groupcast message is intended for all of the plurality of UEs of the sidelink group, and transmits a second groupcast message to the initiator UE, wherein the second groupcast message includes a pairwise groupcast destination identifier based on a first identifier common to the initiator UE and the target UE and a second identifier specific to the target UE and known to the target UE and the initiator UE, and wherein the pairwise groupcast destination identifier indicates that the second groupcast message is intended only for the initiator UE.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A person Internet of Things (IoT) network (PIN) architecture may support configuration and management of a PIN. The PIN architecture may include a first network node configured to establish the PIN, a second network node configured as a network gateway for the PIN, a third network node configured as a network management element for the PIN, and a PINE. The first network node may receive, via a user plane of a network, information from the second network node that triggers the first network node to establish the PIN. The first network node may transmit information that identifies and configures the second network node and the third network node as the network gateway and the network management element, respectively. The second network node may relay communications between the PINE and the network.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may receive a vehicle-mounted relay (VMR) configuration, the VMR configuration including one or more operating parameters associated with performing communication relaying. The wireless communication device may perform communication relaying based at least in part on the one or more operating parameters indicated by the VMR configuration. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a relay entity may establish a wireless communication session with a network entity associated with a visited public land mobile network (VPLMN), wherein the relay entity is configured to perform access node functions and user equipment (UE) functions, and wherein establishing the wireless communication session includes enabling wireless communication for both the access node functions and the UE functions via the VPLMN. The relay entity may perform a relay service via the access node functions. Numerous other aspects are described.
