Abstract:
include using an application on a mobile device to establish first wireless communications with a first smart-home device that was previously paired with the user account. The method may also include transmitting, to the first smart-home device and using the first wireless protocol, a transmission that instructs the first smart-home device to establish second wireless communications with a second smart-home device, where the second wireless communications use a second wireless protocol. The method may additionally include transmitting network credentials to the first smart-home device using the first wireless protocol, where the credentials are then sent from the first smart-home device to the second smart-home device using the second wireless protocol, such that the second smart-home device can pair with the user account using the first wireless protocol.
Abstract:
Automatically transferring transmissions of a data network in which one or more processors receive metrics of active concurrent transmission sessions on a LAN that includes a data network, connected to a WAN, and a threshold level of concurrent transmission sessions of the data network of the LAN. Receiving a request for an additional transmission session, and responsive to determining that the threshold level of concurrent transmission sessions is exceeded, accessing data that maps a communication connection of the data network for a targeted recipient, to a communication connection of an alternate network corresponding to the targeted recipient, and performing a transfer of the additional transmission session from the communication connection of the data network for the targeted recipient, to the alternate network corresponding to the targeted recipient.
Abstract:
According to methods for service based mobility management, a map between a plurality of service classes and/or message types and a plurality of predetermined contents of data packets is acquired (S101, S201, S301). A service class and/or message type is detected for an incoming request message (S102). A predetermined content of a data packet corresponding to the service class and/or message type is determined from the map (S103). The incoming request message is forwarded (S104) in the data packet including the predetermined content. Then, the predetermined content of the data packet is detected (S202), the service class and/or message type corresponding to the predetermined content is determined (S203) from the map, and the incoming request message is forwarded (S204) in a data block including a predetermined indication of the service class and/or message type determined.
Abstract:
A system and method are presented for provisioning and registration of a device. A device in an environment, such as a contact center or enterprise setting, may need to provision to a cloud managed telephony network appliance. This appliance may be part of a grouping of multiple appliances where the contacted appliance does not comprise the device's configuration data for provisioning. In an embodiment, the appliance is able to communicate with the other appliances in the grouping via SIP to discover which appliance owns the device's configuration data, obtain the data, and send the configuration data to the device.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices of various embodiments enable transmitting and receiving media content in a communication system. A processor of a communication device may receive an initialization segment associated with a first media broadcast. The processor may request a second media broadcast. The processor may receive an indication that the initialization segment is also associated with the second media broadcast. The processor may process the second media broadcast using the initialization segment.
Abstract:
A first communication provider supports an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) having a border session control function (BGCF) that receives SIP requests. The SIP requests correspond to different SIP methods and specify various feature tags. The feature tags correspond to available services or media types that may be available from the IMS of a second communication provider. When receiving a SIP request that addresses a user supported by the second communication provider, the BGCF of the first communication provider checks the method and feature tag of the SIP request to make sure that they are supported by IMS of the second communication provider. If they are not, the SIP is rejected and a failure message is returned. The BGCF may also modify certain parameters of the SIP request, such as by removing one or more offered codecs or preconditions.
Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for establishing and maintaining communication between two or more communication devices coupled to communication networks. Some specific aspects relate to communication between a plurality of communication devices each of which is coupled to a respective network. Other aspects relate to establishing such communication by way of contact lists maintained and facilitated on systems coupled to the networks. Users of multiple communication networks, such as VoIP, PSTN and wireless, employ multiple communication devices to communicate with their contacts. For example, a VoIP enabled computer is necessary to access contacts on a VoIP network and a mobile or cellular telephone is used to access contacts on wireless and PSTN networks. A contact list, stored on one communication device, in some instances, cannot be accessed from another communication device. For example, a contact list stored in a VoIP enabled computer cannot be accessed from PSTN or wireless phone devices. Various embodiments described herein provide a convenient solution that can integrate contacts stored on different communication devices and make them accessible from a single device.
Abstract:
A broadband gateway may provision services requested in a home network managed and/or serviced by the broadband gateway by a user associated with the broadband gateway, based on determination of criteria related to the requested service. The requested service may comprise obtaining and/or delivering content for consumption by one or more of a plurality of devices serviced by the broadband gateway in the home network. The criteria may comprise device related data, user preference related information, service performance related parameters, payment related information, and/or energy use related information. The broadband gateway may store information associated with the determined criteria. Provisioning requested services may comprise negotiating with at least one remote resource that may support at least a portion of the requested service. The negotiation may comprise brokering and/or arbitrating a plurality of options of remote resources utilized for providing the at least a portion of the requested service.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided in which a content request may be received by a broadband gateway from a device connected to the broadband gateway through a home network. The broadband gateway may select content that corresponds to the request from content that is available through a network access service provider and/or from other devices in the home network. The selection of the content corresponding to the request may be based on capability information of the device. The selection may be based a bandwidth to transfer the content within the home network to process the content.
Abstract:
Aspects of a method and system for adaptive multimedia delivery via a broadband gateway are provided. A broadband gateway may be operable to determine which one or more of a plurality of devices is communicatively coupled to the broadband gateway. Content may be requested from, and/or scheduled to be delivered to, one or more of the devices. The gateway may be operable to select a provider from which to request the content based on results of the determining. The provider may be selected based on a bandwidth of a link between the broadband gateway and the one or more devices to which the content is to be delivered. The gateway may be operable to select one of a plurality of versions of the content based on results of the determining and requesting the selected version of the content from the selected content provider.
