Abstract: Techniques are described in which a video coder is configured to determine, using one or more characteristics of an interpolation filter, a number of reference samples to be stored at a reference buffer. The video coder is further configured to generate a plurality of values corresponding to the number of reference samples in the reference buffer. The video coder is further configured to generate prediction information for intra-prediction using the interpolation filter and the plurality of values. The video coder is further configured to reconstruct the block of video data based on the prediction information.

Abstract: A video coder is configured to apply a separable bilinear interpolation filter when determining reference blocks as part of advanced residual prediction. Particularly, the video coder may determine, based on a motion vector of a current block in a current picture of video data, a location of a first reference block in a first reference picture. The video coder may also determine a location of a second reference block in a second reference picture. The video coder may apply a separable bilinear interpolation filter to samples of the second reference picture to determine samples of the second reference block. The video coder may apply the separable bilinear interpolation filter to samples of a third reference picture to determine samples of a third reference block. Each respective sample of a predictive block may be equal to a respective sample of the first reference block plus a respective residual predictor sample.

Abstract: A video coding device generates first and second components of a current picture. Additionally, the video coding device determines a first parameter and a second parameter. The first and second parameters are each based on a value of a current sample in the first component. The video coding device applies a cross-component filter to the current sample, thereby determining a filtered value of the current sample based on the first parameter, the second parameter, and one or more cross-component samples. Abstract: Processing circuitry of a device is configured to determine that a plurality of derived modes (DMs) available for predicting a luma block of video data are also available for predicting a chroma block of the video data, the chroma block corresponding to the luma block, to form a candidate list of prediction modes with respect to the chroma block, the candidate list including one or more DMs of the multiple DMs, to determine to code the chroma block using any DM of the candidate list. The processing circuitry may, based on the determination to code the chroma block using any DM of the one or more DMs of the candidate list, code an indication identifying a selected DM of the candidate list to be used for coding the chroma block. The processing circuitry may code the chroma block according to the selected DM of the candidate list.

Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and systems for bit flip identification for debugging and/or power management in a system on a chip (“SoC”) are disclosed. Exemplary embodiments seek to identify bit flip occurrences near in time to the occurrences by checking parity values of data blocks as the data blocks are written into a memory component. In this way, bit flips occurring in association with a write transaction may be differentiated from bit flips occurring in association with a read transaction. The distinction may be useful, when taken in conjunction with various parameter levels identified at the time of a bit flip recognition, to debug a memory component or, when in a runtime environment, adjust thermal and power policies that may be contributing to bit flip occurrences.

Abstract: A video coder transforms, based on a difference between a bit depth of an initial luma sample and a bit depth of initial chroma samples, a set of initial samples to a set of modified samples. The set of initial samples may include the initial luma sample and the initial chroma samples. The initial chroma samples may include an initial Cb sample and an initial Cr sample. The set of modified samples may include a modified luma sample and modified chroma samples. The modified chroma samples may include a modified Cb sample and a modified Cr sample. Additionally, the video coder adds the modified samples to corresponding samples of a predictive block to produce reconstructed samples.

Abstract: A video coder scales a motion vector of a current prediction unit (PU) of a current picture in order to compensate for a difference in temporal distance. In addition, the video coder determines a predictive block for the current PU, determines a disparity reference block based on samples of the disparity reference picture at a location indicated by a disparity vector of the current PU, and determines, based on samples of the fixed reference picture at a location indicated by the scaled motion vector, a temporal-disparity reference block for the current PU. The video coder then determines a residual predictor for the current PU. Each sample of the residual predictor for the current PU indicates a difference between a sample of the temporal-disparity reference block for the current PU and a corresponding sample of the disparity reference block.

Abstract: An example device for filtering a decoded block of video data includes one or more processing units configured to construct a plurality of filters for classes of blocks of a current picture of video data. To construct the plurality of filters for each of the classes, the processing units are configured to determine a value of a flag that indicates whether a fixed filter is used to predict a set of filter coefficients of the class, and in response to the fixed filter being used to predict the set of filter coefficients, determine an index value into a set of fixed filters and predict the set of filter coefficients of the class using a fixed filter of the set of fixed filters identified by the index value.
