    摘要: A supply or demand margin valve for use in hydraulic systems having at least one load provided with hydraulic fluid under pressure by a main pump, a pilot pump and at least one control valve for the load. The margin valve includes a valve body having a bore with a spool reciprocally received within the bore. A first port in the body extends to the bore and is adapted to be connected to the pilot pump. A second port in the body extends to the bore and spaced in relation to the first port and is adapted to be connected to a component of a hydraulic system other than a pilot pump. A spring is disposed in the valve body for applying a biasing force to the spool to urge the spool in one direction and a third port is in fluid communication with the pressure responsive surface and is adapted to be connected to a main pump so as to apply a force to the spool to urge the spool in the same direction as the spring. A fourth port connects with a pressure responsive surface for applying a force to the spool in bucking relation to the spring and a feedback passage in connection with an additional pressure responsive surface is in fluid communication with the second port for applying an additional force to the spool in bucking relation to the spring.

    摘要: A hydraulic controller for a hydrostatic transmission to control a number of functions of a variable displacement pump or motor of the transmission. A valve includes a spool biased in one direction by a spring and in the opposite direction by fluid pressure in a chamber communicating with the charge pump. A variable orifice communicates the chamber with a drain. The size of the orifice is controlled electrically by a signal representative of swashplate position. Depending upon the pressure of the fluid in the chamber, the valve will directly vary the pressure ported from the charge pump to the standard controller. A needle roller has one end in contact with the end of the spool communicating with the chamber. A high pressure signal is provided via a shuttle valve across the high and low pressure conduits of the transmission to the other end of the needle roller. The control valve is thereby responsive to both pump displacement and the highest pressure within the transmission thereby making it a torque limiting controller. Various other modifications are described.

    摘要: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for controlling the flow of hydraulic fluid to and from a work cylinder. The disclosed system includes a reversible variable displacement pump interconnected between a work cylinder and a selector valve which may connect the pump with any of a plurality of fluid reservoirs. The fluid reservoirs contain hydraulic fluid at variable pressures so that the pressure at the work cylinder may be raised to pressures well above the pressure differential capacity of the pump at maximum flow rate by selectively increasing the pressure on the reservoir side of the pump. The system includes means for controlling the pressure at each port of the pump so that the pressue on the output port is always greater than the pressure on the input port regardless of the direction of flow through the pump and regardless of pressures at other points in the system. Relief circuits are provided to prevent system overloading, to prevent overloading of the pump and to protect against overloading the lift apparatus employing the hydraulic system of the invention.

    摘要: A control system for a hydrostatic transmission is disclosed of the type including an engine driven fluid pump and a fluid motor. The control system includes a main control operable in response to an electrical command signal to vary the displacement of the pump, and a command signal generator for generating the command signal. The anti-stall control includes means for comparing electrical signals representative of engine speed and a reference speed, and generating an electrical anti-stall signal representative of the maximum percentage of commanded pump displacement which is permissible without causing the engine to drop below the reference speed. The anti-stall control includes means for electrically multiplying the anti-stall signal and the command signal, downstream of the shaping and rate limiting circuits. The invention provides a simple, inexpensive anti-stall control which can be adjusted to have the maximum possible gain (responsiveness) without inducing circuit instability.

    摘要: A load responsive direction and flow control valve for use in fluid power load responsive system. The valve maintains a selected constant flow level for control of both positive and negative loads, irrespective of the change in the load magnitude or change in the fluid pressure, supplied to the valve. System is powered by a single fixed or variable volume pump. The direction flow control valve is equipped with a load responsive control which automatically regulates pump discharge pressure to maintain either a constant low pressure level or low pressure differential at the motor exhaust. The pump discharge pressure is either regulated by bypassing of excess flow to reservoir, or by a special load responsive control, which varies the pump displacement. Direction control valve may also be equipped with a control responsive to load pressure for controlling negative loads and an inlet pressure throttling control for simultaneous control of multiplicity of loads.

    摘要: An electro-hydraulic control for a hydrostatic transmission including a variable displacement hydraulic pump and fluid operable servos to vary the displacement of the pump. The electro-hydraulic control is in series between the charge pump and the standard manual controller and determines the maximum pressure of the charge fluid ported to the standard controller. The electro-hydraulic control includes a spool biased toward a first position to port fluid from the charge pump to the standard controller, and biased toward a second position to relieve to tank the pressure of fluid ported to the manual controller. The biasing toward the second direction is accomplished, in part, by pressure in a fluid chamber exerting a biasing force on the spool, the fluid chamber being in communication with drain through a variable orifice which is variable in response to a pressure command signal. This signal is generated by control logic including a torque command signal generator which is variable to correspond to a maximum desired input torque setting and circuitry providing a torque approximation signal representing the product of pump displacement and the instantaneous pressure command signal. The circuitry compares the torque command and torque approximation signals and generates a new pressure command signal tending to minimize the difference between the torque command and approximation signals. As a result, the commanded maximum system pressure varies such that the product of maximum system pressure and pump displacement (equal to input torque) is constant, for a given input torque setting.
