摘要: A solid-state imaging device including an imaging area where a plurality of unit pixels are disposed to capture a color image, wherein each of the unit pixels includes: a plurality of photoelectric conversion portions; a plurality of transfer gates, each of which is disposed in each of the photoelectric conversion portions to transfer signal charges from the photoelectric conversion portion; and a floating diffusion to which the signal charges are transferred from the plurality of the photoelectric conversion portions by the plurality of the transfer gates, wherein the plurality of the photoelectric conversion portions receive light of the same color to generate the signal charges, and wherein the signal charges transferred from the plurality of the photoelectric conversion portions to the floating diffusion are added to be output as an electrical signal.

摘要: An image sensor may include an array of image pixels formed in rows and columns. Each image pixel in the array may include a photodiode and multiple signal readout paths connected to the photodiode. Each readout path may include a separate floating diffusion node and source follower transistor. The number of signal readout paths simultaneously enabled during an image capture operation may be determined by the exposure level such that the pixel operates with either high or low conversion gain. Several such image pixels of like color in the pixel array may be connected via a shared photodiode interconnection line such that image signals from interconnected pixels may either be binned and read out on a single readout path or read out individual on separate readout paths.

摘要: Using a foveated camera for video augmented reality via a head mounted display is provided. A camera may be placed in a binning mode; a full frame binned image may be captured using the camera and the binning mode of the camera may be turned off. A region of interest may be selected within the full frame; the region of interest may be captured at a higher resolution than the resolution of the camera when in binning mode; the region of interest may be composited with the full frame binned image; and the composited image may be displayed.

摘要: To solve the problem of conventional image sensing devices that require much time for reading pixel signals, an image sensing device according to an embodiment includes a first pixel unit coupled to a first vertical read line, a second pixel unit coupled to a second vertical read line and placed in the column of the first pixel unit, a first transfer switch provided at an end of the first read line, and a second transfer switch provided at an end of the second read line. When the first transfer switch is controlled to be closed and the second transfer switch is controlled to be conductive, the image sensing device performs a reset process of the vertical read line by a dark level signal output from the second pixel unit, and a conversion process of the dark level read from the first pixel unit, and the pixel signal into digital values.

摘要: In a solid-state image capturing device, one or more vertical signal lines are disposed along one of columns of a pixel portion, and each of the vertical signal lines is divided into two parts between an upper region and a lower region of the pixel portion. Pixel signals output from a plurality of pixels of the one of the columns are read out to a plurality of column readout circuits through two or more parts of the vertical signal lines including the two parts of the one or more vertical signal lines disposed along the one of the columns. A division position of one vertical signal line among the vertical signal lines disposed in the pixel portion is different from a division position of another vertical signal line among the vertical signal lines in a row direction.

摘要: A system and method for driving a solid-state image pickup device including a pixel array unit including unit pixels. Each unit pixel includes a photoelectric converter, column signal lines and a number of analog-digital converting units. The unit pixels are selectively controlled in units of rows. Analog signals output from the unit pixels in a row selected by the selective control though the column signal lines are converted to digital signals via the analog-digital converting units. The digital signals are added among a number of unit pixels via the analog-digital converting units. The added digital signals from the analog-digital converting units are read. Each unit pixel in the pixel array unit is selectively controlled in units of arbitrary rows, the analog-distal converting units being operable to performing the converting in a (a) normal-frame-rate mode and a (b) high-frame-rate mode in response to control signals.

摘要: An image processing method is provided. The method is configured to process the color-block image output by the image sensor. The high-frequency region of the color-block image is determined. A part of the color-block image within the high-frequency region is converted into a first image using a first interpolation algorithm. A part of the color-block image beyond the high-frequency region is converted into a second image using a second interpolation algorithm. The complexity of the second interpolation algorithm is less than that of the first interpolation algorithm. The first image and the second image are merged into a simulation image corresponding to the color-block image. An image processing apparatus and an electronic device are provided.

摘要: Disclosed is an imaging device and method capable of obtaining an image with exposure appropriate for each sample when a plurality of samples are collectively imaged. For performing imaging using an imaging device configured to divide an imaging area into a plurality of partial areas, to perform imaging for each partial area, a proper exposure time is calculated for each partial area based on an image signal, a positive integer multiple of the maximum value among the calculated proper exposure times is set as a total imaging time, an imaging frequency is set for each partial area using a value obtained by dividing the total imaging time by the calculated proper exposure time, imaging with the calculated proper exposure time of the partial area is successively and repeatedly performed by the set imaging frequency, and each image successively imaged is simply added or is added and averaged.
