Abstract:
An illuminating device includes a light-emitting element that is mounted on a base material and a light-guiding member that guides light from the light-emitting element to an irradiation target, and illuminates the irradiation target with the light transmitted through the light-guiding member. The light-guiding member includes an extending portion that extends from the surface of the base material on which the light-emitting element is mounted to a left side end portion of the base material so as to cover the left side end portion. An image-reading includes this illuminating device. Image-forming apparatus includes this image-reading apparatus.
Abstract:
A light projection unit includes a substrate, a plurality of light emitting elements arrayed on the substrate in a main scanning direction and including light emitting surfaces, a light guide facing the light emitting surfaces to direct light projected from the light emitting elements onto an illumination target and including a first positioning portion, and a holder including a second positioning portion that engages the first positioning portion of the light guide to position the light guide on the holder. The first positioning portion of the light guide is positioned between centers of light emission of adjacent light emitting elements in the main scanning direction of the substrate when the first positioning portion engages the second positioning portion of the holder.
Abstract:
An optical unit including a lens unit including a lens and an optical element configured to receive a light beam focused by the lens, and a support member configured to support the lens unit. Cutouts are provided on joint surfaces of the lens unit and the support member, respectively, such that the cutouts on the joint surface of the lens unit match the cutouts on the joint surface of the support member. The cutouts are configured to accommodate a jig inserted thereinto and rotated to move the lens unit relative to the support member and adjust a position of the lens unit in a direction parallel to an optical axis of the lens.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image scanning module including a first unit, a second unit, and a third unit. The first unit having a light source is used for retrieving a first image. The second unit is used for generating a second image by focusing the first image. The third unit is used for generating an electric signal responsive to the second image. The first unit, the second unit, and the third unit are modules discrete from each other.
Abstract:
A line scan camera comprises a printed circuit board upon which a charge-coupled device (CCD) is mounted. A lens component is fixed within a lens mount, and the base of the lens mount is adjustably mounted upon an optical bench. Calibration devices adjustably interconnect the lens mount to the printed circuit board and to the optical bench so as to calibrate the positional location of the lens component relative to the charge-coupled device (CCD) and to an object plane past which objects to be scanned and photographed are conveyed. In this manner, the focus distance defined between the lens component and the charge-coupled device (CCD) as well as the focal distance defined between the lens component and the object plane are fixed and do not need any further calibration. The object plane is defined upon the front surface of a sealed housing enclosure and all of the components are disposed within the housing enclosure so as to prevent dust and contaminants from collecting upon the optical components. LED arrays are disposed within the front of the housing so as to illuminate and properly expose the objects conveyed past the object plane. A positive pressure differential is also created within the sealed housing enclosure so as to prevent the ingress of dust and contaminants into the housing enclosure.
Abstract:
A mounting structure for an inverter circuit board for a light source lamp of an image reader in which mounting means for mounting the inverter circuit board for a light source lamp of an image reader onto a carriage is located to be operated from the direction in which the carriage moves in one embodiment. The inverter circuit and heat dissipation plate are removably mounted to an end of the full rate carriage. In another embodiment, the circuit board is mounted to the top for access from above the carriage.
Abstract:
A light irradiation device includes a light source, a light guide member, and a holding member. The light guide member includes an incident surface, an exit surface, and a held surface. The incident surface has an elongated shape in a main scanning direction and faces a light emitting surface of the light source. The light guide member includes a securing structure in each of both end portions in the main scanning direction, which are out of a light guide area of the light guide member. The securing structure in one end portion is an engagement lug structure protruding to penetrate into a through-hole of the holding member, including a lug on a leading end, and engaging the holding member. The securing structure on another end portion is a fastening structure having a fastening hole penetrated with a fastening member and being secured to the holding member with the fastening member.
Abstract:
An image sensor (100) comprises a lens (4), a sensor (6) and a first casing (1). The lens (4) is configured to focus light irradiated toward an object to be read (30) from a direction tilted relative to the X-Z plane, and reflected by the object to be read (30). The sensor (6) is configured to receive the light focused by the lens (4). The first casing (1) is configured to contain or retain the lens (4) and the sensor (6) and to have, in a surface (1j) extending along a main scanning direction, a tilted portion having a length in a sub-scanning direction that decreases toward the object to be read (30).
Abstract:
A position adjustment apparatus couples an imaging unit, which includes an imaging sensor and a focusing lens unit, to a base frame and is capable of adjusting a position of the imaging unit. The image sensor reads a document image and the focusing lens unit forms the document image by using the image sensor. The position adjustment apparatus may include an adjustment frame on which the focusing lens unit and the image sensor are installed, a height fixing member for coupling the adjustment frame to the base frame so as to fix a height of the adjustment frame at a fixed support position, and first and second adjustment members for coupling the adjustment frame to the base frame so as to adjust the height of the adjustment frame at first and second adjustable support positions. An image reading apparatus may include the imaging unit and the position adjustment apparatus.
