摘要: A development device includes an imaging lens and light shielding walls. The imaging lens includes a body part having a constant diameter and both end parts arranged at both ends in an optical axial direction having diameters larger than the body part to capture a reflected light from a document onto an imaging part. The light shielding walls has a space with an interval larger than the diameter of the body part and smaller than the diameters of the both end parts, allowing the body part of the imaging lens to be arranged in the space, and shielding a light in the optical axial direction.

摘要: A light guide has first and second light guide parts (S, T) in front and rear of a constricted part (2). The first light guide has first and second side parts (1a, 1b). The second light guide part has a reflection condensing part (4) and third and fourth side parts extending from the constricted part to divert the first and second side parts more outward than imaginary surfaces (1c, 1d) as extensions of the first and second side parts beyond the constricted part.

摘要: An image reading apparatus irradiates a document with light, and reads the document image based on the reflected light and includes a light source which includes a plurality of LEDs, and irradiates the document with light. The apparatus also includes an LED current adjusting unit which sets the amount of current to be supplied to each LED by changing the current amounts from the end portion to the central portion in the main scanning direction of document reading, and a driving circuit which drives the LEDs by the current amounts set by the LED current adjusting unit in correspondence with the LEDs.

摘要: A module 1 movable over the original surface 110 of the original reader 100 has a metal sheet frame 4 disposed in the vicinity of its gravitational center and having a substantially channel-like shape. A first and a second optical systems 2 and 3 and a drive source 6 assembled to be integral with a flat part 40 of the metal sheet frame 4. Thus, a reduced-size, improved quality and improved-accuracy original reader to be used for facsimile devices and image scanners is obtained.

摘要: An optical text scanning device compatible with a small handheld computer such as a personal digital assistant (PDA). The scanning device allows for a clear view of the text that is scanned simultaneous to the scanning process so that the operator can continuously align the device to the text. The scanned images of the text are converted in real-time to standard byte or word characters for subsequent display on the computer's viewing screen. The operator can quickly verify the accuracy of the conversion by comparing the displayed character with the actual character of text on the surface that is being scanned. Scanned text characters are stored in standard digital text files for ease of manipulation.
