Abstract:
A torsion bar system for a vehicle axle, in particular a rear axle, of a two-track vehicle, includes first and second rotary actuators, each of which is associated with a vehicle side, for an active suspension control. Each rotary actuator has at least one motor/gear unit with which torques can be generated and transmitted as actuating forces onto a wheel suspension element via an output lever. The motor/gear units of both rotary actuators are arranged in a common housing which is rotationally fixed to the vehicle body. The housing has at least two attachment points for bracing the vehicle body, wherein the attachment points are spaced from one another across a bearing distance, and the housing is mounted on the vehicle body in a rigid assembly via said attachment points.
Abstract:
A connecting arrangement for a motor vehicle wheel suspension, with a spring plate for receiving a vehicle spring, a joint and a connecting strut, which is articulated to the spring plate by way of the joint. The joint includes a fastening section that extends in an axial direction and engages in a fastening hole formed in the spring plate. The fastening section passes through the fastening hole and is shaped outside the hole, on a side of the spring plate facing away from the joint, to form a contact surface that is supported axially against the spring plate.
Abstract:
A two or more person RUV (recreational utility vehicle) is provided with a multi-place multi-planar saddle seat assembly, multi-place multi-planar foot board assemblies, and grip handles.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wheel suspension for motor vehicles, with a suspension strut which is formed from a shock absorber and a bearing spring, the bearing spring being supported by way of spring plates on the body of the motor vehicle and on the tube of the shock absorber, and a spring plate being movably guided relative to the body and able to be moved axially by means of an actuator relative to the shock absorber tube, and the suspension strut having a preloaded spring with a spring force which is opposite the bearing spring, which is supported on the body of the motor vehicle and also on the movable spring plate of the bearing spring. According to the invention, the actuator is located outside, in particular radially outside the suspension strut.
Abstract:
A torsion bar spring arrangement, particularly a stabilizer arrangement, for a double-track vehicle, has at least one prestressed spring element which limits the introduction of force into the torsion bar spring or the stabilizer to a value defined by the prestressing force of the spring element, in which case the spring element acts as an overload protection such that, when a force is introduced which significantly exceeds the prestressing force, the torsion bar spring arrangement would be damaged without this spring element. The torsion bar spring can have a divided construction and the spring element can be clamped in between the two parts of the torsion bar spring, in which case these two parts of the torsion bar spring can be mutually rotatable by way of an actuator. Preferably, the torsion bar spring parts each have a driving device which is clamped by way of the spring element between two stops which, for the first torsion bar spring part, are fixedly connected with the housing of the actuator ad, for the second torsion bar spring part, are connected with its control element.

Abstract:
A shock absorber--torsion bar system for the rear of a suspension dragster increases the proportion of sprung to unsprung weight in the dragster and therefore facilitates balancing and stabilizing the dragster to improve performance during a race.
Abstract:
The automotive rocking beam suspension comprises a rocking beam assembly pivotably mounted to the chassis structure of a vehicle, a torsion spring connecting the rocking beam assembly to the vehicle chassis structure. A pair of wheel mounting assemblies are mounted to the rocking beam assembly for carrying a wheel, each wheel mounting assembly permitting independent vertical movement of the wheel carried by that wheel mounting assembly. A road spring is associated with each wheel mounting assembly for supporting the chassis structure.
Abstract:
An independent suspension for a motor vehicle includes a wheel carrier with a spindle for rotatably mounting a road wheel, a telescoping strut having a lower end rigidly attached to the wheel carrier and an upper end attached to the chassis of the motor vehicle. A control arm is interposed between the wheel carrier and the chassis, and a torsional unloading device is interposed between the control arm and the telescoping strut such that the torsional unloading device will impose a force upon the telescoping strut tending to counteract an opposing bending moment imposed upon the strut by the wheel carrier.
