    摘要: To provide a motive-power transmission device for a vehicle including a torque converter, a gearbox, and a clutch for cutting off the transmission of motive power between the input shaft of the gearbox and the turbine of the torque converter. The gearbox is accommodated in the crankcase, and the motive-power transmission device is compact in the axial direction of the crankshaft. A motive-power transmission device for a vehicle includes the crankshaft and the input shaft of the gearbox journaled freely rotatably in the crankcase, their axes being parallel to each other; the torque converter is mounted on one end portion of the crankshaft; and the clutch is separated along the axial direction of the crankshaft from the torque converter and so mounted on one end portion of the input shaft that part of the clutch overlaps the torque converter as seen in the axial direction of the crankshaft.

A torque converter is provided with a lock-up clutch mounted on the crank case side of the torque converter and capable of directly connecting a pump to a turbine. A driving gear fixed to the turbine and capable of transmitting the output of the torque converter to the gear transmission is mounted on one end side of a crank shaft outside the crank case such that the lock-up clutch is sandwiched between the torque converter and the driving gear. A generator is mounted on the other end side of the crank shaft outside the crank case.

    摘要: Looking from a front toward a rear of a vehicle, a crankcase has a cross sectional shape which gets narrower towards its bottom. The crankcase includes a crankshaft which extends parallel to a direction of travel for the vehicle. A main shaft, a counter shaft and an output shaft of a transmission are arranged in a transmission chamber on one side of the crankshaft. An oil tank is provided on the same side of the crankshaft and outwardly of the transmission chamber. The oil tank is separated from the transmission chamber by a partitioning wall. The oil tank has a substantially crescent shape, with the lower end extending beneath the output shaft. An intake port of a feed pump is provided in the lowest part of the oil tank. An oil inlet for adding oil to the oil tank is provided just above the oil tank. An overflow hole to the transmission chamber is provided in the partitioning wall. The feed pump is provided on an opposite side of the crankshaft inside the crankcase. A scavenge pump, which sucks from an oil sump at the lowest section of the crankcase and returns oil to the oil tank, is also provided on the opposite side of the is crankshaft and inside the crankcase. A drain hole communicates with the oil tank and with the transmission chamber. The drain hole is provided in a lower part of the crankcase and is closed by a drain bolt.

    摘要: An intake cam and an exhaust cam are formed integrally with a cam shaft, and a decompression cam is additionally provided adjacently to the front side of the exhaust cam. A rib is formed in back of the intake cam. A cylindrical surface portion having a diameter being the same as that of the outer periphery surface of a ball bearing for supporting the front portion of the cam shaft and being larger than the diameter of the base circle of the cam shaft, is formed on the front crank case, and a locking stepped portion is formed in back of the cylindrical surface portion. Cutout portions are formed in the locking stepped portion so that the cam shaft can be pulled forward in the state that the intake cam, exhaust cam and the decompression cam are arranged.

    摘要: A power unit, including an engine and a transmission, is transversely arranged in a vehicle with a crankshaft arranged parallel to a traveling direction of the vehicle. Looking at a crankcase from the front, a camshaft is arranged to one side of the crankshaft. A balancer shaft is also located on the one side of the crankshaft and coaxailly drives an oil pump. The transmission and an oil tank are arranged on the opposite side of the crankshaft. The crankshaft includes a crank sprocket which drives the cam shaft via a cam chain and a cam sprocket provided on one end of the cam shaft. The cam sprocket and the oil pump are arranged on either side of a balancer attached to the balancer shaft. The power unit arrangement allows for an increase in the potential capacity of the oil pump of a dry sump type lubrication system without causing an increase in the size of a crankcase.

A water pump for circulating the cooling water of an internal combustion engine is connected to one end of a cam shaft for a valve system arranged in a cylinder head and is driven by the cam shaft. A delivery port of the water pump is extended near to a cooling water supply port formed in the side wall of a cylinder block and is connected to a cooling water passage in the cylinder block. The delivery poll of the water pump is extended to a position directly opposite to the cooling water supply port, and is connected to the cooling water supply port with a connection pipe. A mounting structure of a camshaft is capable of applying high speed rotation by shortening a length of push rods and also capable of facilitating maintenance such as replacement of cams. In an overhead valve type internal combustion engine, a camshaft is located and mounted in space surrounded by an upper portion of a cylinder and cylinder head.
