Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method comprising the steps of: a) producing a hydrocarbon stream from syngas via a Fischer-Tropsch reaction, wherein the hydrocarbon stream comprises a first C2 hydrocarbon stream comprising ethane and a first ethylene product; b) separating at least a portion of the first C2 hydrocarbon stream from the hydrocarbon stream; c) separating at least a portion of the first ethylene product from the first C2 hydrocarbon stream, thereby producing a second C2 hydrocarbon stream; d) converting at least a portion of the ethane in the second C2 hydrocarbon stream to a second ethylene product; and e) producing polyethylene from at least a portion of the second ethylene product.

Abstract: Systems for dehydrogenating an alkane are provided. An exemplary system includes a furnace and further includes alkane heating chambers, regeneration mixture heating chambers, and two groups of reaction chambers, all located within the furnace. The alkane heating chambers and regeneration mixture heating chambers can preheat an alkane feed and a regeneration mixture feed, respectively. The two groups of reaction chambers can be switchably coupled to an alkane feed and a regeneration mixture feed such that an alkane can flow through one group of reaction chambers while a regeneration mixture flows through the other group of reaction chambers. Processes for dehydrogenating an alkane are also provided.

Abstract: A reactor for hydrocarbon production that separates wax reaction products from lightweight gaseous reaction products. The reactor has a housing, a catalyst bed, a product recovery zone, and a stripping zone. The catalyst bed can be provided in multi-tubular and other fixed bed configurations. The stripping zone receives light-weight gas reaction products from the product recovery zone, while a gas outlet of the housing receives non-lightweight gaseous hydrocarbon reaction products from the product recovery zone. A wax outlet of the housing receives wax products from the product recovery zone.
