Abstract: The present disclosure provides for adaptive resource management in new radio operations that adapts a numerology including a subcarrier spacing and/or cyclic prefix for a user equipment (UE) traveling at a high speed. A base station may transmit via a plurality of remote radio heads (RRH) to a user equipment (UE) is moving along a high speed track. The base station may transmit, in a first time period, using a first numerology including a first subcarrier spacing and a first cyclic prefix ratio, a first transmission for the UE. The base station may transmit, in a subsequent time period, using a second numerology including a second subcarrier spacing and a second cyclic prefix ratio, a second transmission for the UE. At least one of the second subcarrier spacing is different than the first subcarrier spacing or the second cyclic prefix ratio is different than the first cyclic prefix ratio.

Another method may include determining whether to reorder resource element group (REG) indices for a received control channel transmission based, at least in part, on a transmission mode associated with the control channel transmission. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In one example, a base station may dynamically configure a user equipment (UE) to monitor or avoid monitoring for a preemption indication. Accordingly, the UE may have a lower chance of monitoring for a preemption indication when it is unlikely that an uplink or downlink transmission will be preempted. In another example, a base station may transmit a control message indicating whether future indications received from the base station are to be interpreted as preemption indications or permission indications. Accordingly, the base station may choose to use either preemption indications or permission indications (e.g., based on the probability of collisions between mobile broadband (MBB) and low latency transmissions) to facilitate MBB and low latency communication multiplexing with limited signaling.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may monitor a downlink transmission for control information during a set of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring occasions. The UE may determine a first configuration for the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions during a slot of the downlink transmission and a threshold number of PDCCH candidates and/or a threshold number of non-overlapping CCEs within the slot. In some cases, the UE may also determine a threshold number of PDCCH candidates and/or non-overlapping control channel elements (CCEs) within a single PDCCH monitoring occasion. The threshold number of PDCCH candidates and non-overlapping CCEs may be fixed, based on the number of PDCCH monitoring occasions during the slot, based on a processing capability of the UE, or a combination thereof. The UE may decode control information contained in one or more of the PDCCH monitoring occasions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, devices (e.g., base stations, user equipment (UEs), etc.) may utilize polar coding along with hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) techniques. In these systems, a device may encode bits for transmission by mapping information and parity check bits to a first set of polarized bit channels of a polar code. If this transmission is not successfully received at a decoding device, the encoding device may generate a HARQ retransmission. The device may copy information bits to a second set of polarized bit channels of a second polar code containing the first polar code and may assign parity check bits to the second set of bit channels for the copied information bits. These additional parity check bits for the repeated information bits may increase transmission reliability and may support improved early termination at the decoding device.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) in communication with a base station may utilize multiple code word (MCW) transmissions within a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process. An original transmission has a first transport block allocated to a first code word and a second transport block allocated to a second code word. Each transport block includes multiple code blocks grouped into code block groups. The UE receives a negative acknowledgement indicating that a subset of the code block groups were not successfully received. The UE retransmits the subset of the code block groups on at least one of the first code word or the second code word in a retransmission in the HARQ process. At least one code block is retransmitted on a different code word in the retransmission than in the original transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station and a user equipment (UE) may communicate in a high reliability and low latency communications system (e.g., ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC)). The base station may signal a UE-specific scheduling request (SR) repetition configuration that the UE may utilize to transmit an instantaneous SR when a buffer status report (BSR) is triggered by a new data packet. The UE may repeatedly transmit the SR until a number of repetitions or a time period of repetitions is met or an uplink grant is received from the base station. The SR repetition configuration may include a number of parameters including a repetition setting, power settings, a resource allocation, and an acknowledgement/negative acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) procedure.
